Digital Solutions is the third studio album by Juan Atkins as Model 500. [3] It was released by Metroplex on February 18, 2015. [1] It is his first studio album under the pseudonym in 16 years, following from Deep Space (1995) and Mind and Body (1999). [4] It includes additional production from Mike Banks. [5]

At Metacritic, which assigns a weighted average score out of 100 to reviews from mainstream critics, the album received an average score of 82, based on 4 reviews, indicating "universal acclaim". [6]

Paul Clarke of Resident Advisor gave the album a 3.8 out of 5, writing, "Like techno's equivalent of '70s rock legends on a reunion tour, Atkins is past his prime but still perfectly capable of satisfying his fans." [8] Albert Freeman of The Quietus wrote, "Apart from a few slow moments, the album is overall a heartfelt and thoughtful piece, well composed and sequenced from beginning to end, and it sometimes approaches his best work." [7]

Jimmy Edgar is an American electronic music producer, conceptual artist and sound designer from Detroit, Michigan. They initially released music under the names Michaux and Kristuit Salu and Morris Nightingale, before formally releasing their first solo album Color Strip (2006) on Warp Records after they signed to the label at age 18. Metroplex is an American techno record label in Detroit, Michigan, United States, founded in 1985 by techno pioneer Juan Atkins. Juan Atkins did most of his work for the label under the pseudonyms Model 500 and Infiniti, and will occasionally use such names for live acts.

Techno is a genre of electronic dance music (EDM) which is generally produced for use in a continuous DJ set, with tempo often varying between 120 and 150 beats per minute (bpm). The central rhythm is typically in common time (4/4) and often characterized by a repetitive four on the floor beat. Terrence Dixon, also known under the alias Population One, is an American techno producer and dj based in Detroit, Michigan. He is known for his minimal techno sound. He has released on numerous record labels including Tresor and Metroplex. In 2014, Dixon announced his retirement from making music, but currently continues to release music.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">No UFO's</span> 1985 single by Model 500

"No UFO's" is a 1985 techno song by Juan Atkins under the alias of Model 500. It was released on Atkins own label Metroplex. The song was the first track released after the split of Atkins' previous group Cybotron. The music followed similar themes of the previous group with science fiction and alienation but featured less of a song structure than Cybotron's music leading the track to be often identified as one of the earliest techno songs.

Esteban Adame is an East Los Angeles DJ who emerged from the Chicano/Latino rave or party scene in the 1990s. He started DJing at the age of 15. In 2004, he was asked by "Mad" Mike Banks of Underground Resistance to join the music collective in Detroit, Michigan. Banks reportedly was interested when he "found out Chicanos from Southern California were interested in UR records, sensing a common ground between Los Angeles's Latino enclaves and the Black neighborhoods of Detroit." Adame would go on to play piano for the label's electronic jazz band Galaxy 2 Galaxy.
