The 2007–08 season was the 60th season in the existence of FC Steaua București and the club's 60th consecutive season in the top flight of Romanian football. The 2014–15 Cupa României was the seventy-seventh season of the annual Romanian primary football knockout tournament. Astra Giurgiu, last season's title holders, were eliminated in the Round of 32 by the Liga II team Mioveni. Steaua București won the tournament.

The 2014–15 season was FC Dinamo București's 66th consecutive season in Liga I. In this season, Dinamo played in Liga I, Cupa României and Cupa Ligii. Dinamo continued its insolvency procedure, thus the club could not buy any player, bringing only free agents and players on loan.
