Dogs of War is a vertically scrolling run and gun video game developed and published by Elite Systems for the Amiga and Atari ST in 1989. Players assume the role of freelance mercenaries who are sent on international assignments to topple governments and rescue people in danger.
Dogs of War offers a campaign consisting of twelve missions that can be completed in single-player or co-op mode. [2] In each mission, players must complete different objectives, such as rescuing a kidnapped child, retrieving a valuable piece of art, or killing a criminal. They must simultaneously defend against waves of enemies. [3] Missions increase in difficulty as the player progresses through the game. Upon completing missions, players earn money in-game, which can be used to purchase new items and upgrade weapons, allowing them to take down heavy obstacles that appear in later stages. These obstacles include turrets, military jeeps, and tanks. [4] Weapons in the game include pistols, Kalashnikovs, chain guns, grenades, rocket launchers, and a flamethrower. After completing all twelve missions, the players' characters are offered the choice to join either the regular or salvation army. [5]
Dogs of War received moderate to mixed reviews. Zzap!64 magazine editors Robin and Phil gave the game an overall score of 77%, stating that the game was "hardly innovative... [but] very addictive and (as always) more fun with two players... this is great mindless fun." [6] User-run forums such as Lemon Amiga and Atari Mania gave the game a 7.04 and 7.4/10, respectively. Star Wars is a first-person rail shooter designed by Mike Hally and released as an arcade video game in 1983 by Atari, Inc. It uses 3D color vector graphics to simulate the assault on the Death Star from the 1977 film Star Wars. There are three connected gameplay sequences: combat against TIE fighters in space, flying across the surface of the Death Star, and the final trench run. The sequence repeats with added complications and the Death Star regenerating for each. The player's X-Wing fighter has a shield which only protects against damage a certain number of times, then the next hit ends the game. Speech synthesis emulates actors from the film.
Obliterator is a side-scrolling arcade adventure computer game published by Psygnosis in 1988. It was released for Amiga, Atari ST, ZX Spectrum, Amstrad CPC, and MS-DOS. The game was programmed by David H. Lawson and its graphics were made by Garvan Corbett and Jim Ray Bowers. The soundtrack was composed by David Whittaker and the cover art is by the artist Roger Dean.
Airborne Ranger is an action game developed and published by MicroProse for the Commodore 64 and ZX Spectrum in 1987 and the Amstrad CPC and IBM PC compatibles in 1988. Lethal Weapon is a video game based on the film series of the same name created by Shane Black. It was developed by Ocean Software and Eurocom and released in 1992 and 1993 by Ocean and Nintendo. It was released in conjunction with Lethal Weapon 3, the third installment of the series.
Drol is a video game published by Broderbund in 1983. It was written for the Apple II by Benny Aik Beng Ngo, then ported to the Commodore 64 and Atari 8-bit computers. Versions were released for the SG-1000 in 1985 and Amiga in 1991.

Midnight Resistance is a side-scrolling run and gun game produced by Data East and released in arcades in 1989. Midnight Resistance is set in a dystopian future where the player controls a member of a resistance movement who goes on a mission to rescue his kidnapped family from a drug kingpin.
F/A-18 Interceptor is a combat flight simulator developed by Intellisoft and published by Electronic Arts for the Amiga in 1988. The player mainly flies the F/A-18 Hornet, but the F-16 Fighting Falcon is also available for aerobatics, free flight and the first mission. Contrary to the title of the game, the real F/A-18 is not a true interceptor aircraft, having been designed instead as a multirole anti-ship strike fighter.
Rambo III is a series of video games based on the film Rambo III (1988). Like in the film, their main plots center on former Vietnam-era Green Beret John Rambo being recalled up to duty one last time to rescue his former commander, Colonel Sam Trautman, who was captured during a covert operation mission in Soviet-controlled Afghanistan.
