Dominick Dunne's Power, Privilege, and Justice is an American crime TV series that examined real-life cases of crime, passion, and greed involving privileged or famous people. The episodes were shown on truTV (formerly Court TV) and on Star TV in Canada as well as Zone Reality/CBS Reality in Europe and Bio. in Australia. The host of the show was Dominick Dunne. The series started in 2002 and ended in late 2009 with Dunne's death. Digital multicaster Justice Network currently shows reruns of the program.

The show started in 2002 and ended with Dunne's death in 2009. Several of the episodes had intersected with his career. [1] The show had "one of the best true-crime writers" of its time, Dominick Dunne. [2] Linda Stasi comments that Dunne reports on the rich and powerful when they kill, and analyses how they are more likely to get away with it, indicating "Dunne nails them - no holds barred." [2] Listed in the Encyclopedia of Television Shows 1925-2010, the series is described to present "a look at the dark side of the law" where the rich and famous try to beat the legal system. [3]

Dominique Ellen Dunne was an American actress. Born and raised in Santa Monica, California, Dunne studied acting at Milton Katselas' Workshop, where she appeared in stage productions. She made her on-screen debut with the television film Diary of a Teenage Hitchhiker, and thereafter played the recurring roles of Erica on the drama series Family (1980), and Paulina Bornstein on the comedy series Breaking Away (1980–1981).

Sunny von Bülow American heiress, socialite, and philanthropist

Martha Sharp "Sunny" von Bülow was an American heiress and socialite. Her second husband, Claus von Bülow (1926−2019), was convicted in 1982 of attempting to murder her by insulin overdose, but the conviction was overturned on appeal. A second trial found him not guilty, after experts opined that there was no insulin injection and that her symptoms were attributable to over-use of prescription drugs. The story was dramatized in the book and film Reversal of Fortune. Sunny von Bülow lived almost 28 years in a persistent vegetative state, from December 1980 until her death in a New York City nursing home on December 6, 2008.

Dominick John Dunne was an American writer, investigative journalist, and producer. He began his career in film and television as a producer of the pioneering gay film The Boys in the Band (1970) and as the producer of the award-winning drug film The Panic in Needle Park (1971). He turned to writing in the early 1970s, and after the 1982 murder of his daughter, Dominique, he began to focus on the ways in which wealth and high society interact with the judicial system. Dunne was a frequent contributor to Vanity Fair, and from the 1980s, he appeared regularly on television discussing crime.

A Crime to Remember is an American documentary television series that airs on Investigation Discovery and premiered on November 12, 2013. It tells the stories of notorious crimes that captivated attention of the media and the public when they occurred, such as the United Airlines Flight 629 bombing from 1955. As of the 2018 season, the series has aired 38 episodes over five seasons. All 30 episodes from the first four seasons are currently streaming on Hulu. The complete season 4 and 5 episodes are currently available on Amazon Prime Video. All episodes of the series are available through the ID GO app and the Discovery+ streaming service.
