Don Bendell (born January 8, 1947) is an American author, rancher, tracker, and Vietnam combat veteran. [2] [3] [4] He has published 31 books and assisted in exposing former Atlantic City Mayor Bob Levy's claims of serving as a Green Beret as false. [5]

Bendell was born in Akron, Ohio, and has had his work published in The American Spectator . [6] Bendell is a grand master instructor in five martial arts, [7] [8] and is a 1995 inductee into the International Karate & Kickboxing Hall of Fame. [9]

Education

Bendell has a Bachelor of Science in Business from Colorado Christian University and a Master of Science in Business from the Ken Blanchard College of Business in Grand Canyon University.[ citation needed ]

Politics

In November 2016, Bendell spoke and was master of ceremonies at the largest rally in Colorado introducing Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump. One week earlier he was an Emcee and introduced Eric J. Trump at Colorado Christian University in Denver. [10] [11]

In 2018, Bendell ran as a Republican for the Colorado House of Representatives and was narrowly defeated by his Democratic opponent, Brianna Buentello. [12]

As a teenager, he won the middleweight championship of the European Professional Karate Association in 1979 and the Mr. Belgium bodybuilding title in 1978. With the desire of becoming an actor in Hollywood, he moved to the United States in 1982, where he worked on several films, until he got his break as the lead in the martial arts film Bloodsport (1988).

Benny Urquidez is an American former professional kickboxer, martial arts choreographer and actor. Nicknamed "The Jet", Urquidez was a non-contact karate competitor who later pioneered full-contact fighting in the United States. He made the transition from point to full-contact karate in 1974, the year of its inception in the US, frequently fighting in bouts where the rules were ambiguous and contrasts in styles were dramatic. Urquidez is also known for once holding the rare achievement of six world titles in five different weight divisions, and remained largely undefeated in his 27-year career. His only loss came in a Muay Thai match which was shrouded in controversy, as Urquidez had only agreed to a no-decision exhibition, a clause which was ignored when the fight had ended.

Cung Le is an American actor, retired mixed martial artist, Sanshou fighter and kickboxer. Le is perhaps best known in mixed martial arts for competing in Strikeforce, holding a record of 7–1 with the organization before its demise. He defeated Frank Shamrock to become the second Strikeforce Middleweight Champion before vacating the title to further pursue his acting career. He competed as a middleweight in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), holding a record of 2–2 with the organization. In kickboxing and sanshou, he is a former International Kickboxing Federation Light Heavyweight World Champion, having a professional kickboxing record of 17–0 before moving to mixed martial arts.

Dennis Alexio is an American former professional kickboxer and actor who competed in the light heavyweight, cruiserweight and heavyweight divisions. Beginning his career as a light heavyweight in 1980, Alexio embarked on an extensive, knockout-laden undefeated streak before losing a decision to Don "The Dragon" Wilson in a World Kickboxing Association (WKA) World Super Light Heavyweight Full Contact Championship match in 1984. Marshall R. Teague is an American film and television actor known for his balance of starring roles with powerful supporting characters, allowing him to build a varied and pivotal body of work. He was born in Newport, Tennessee. He is of English, French, and Cherokee ancestry. At age nine, he spent time with relatives throughout Asia, where he began a passion for the martial arts training in Korean Kuk Sool Won Hapkido. He holds black belts in both Korean Hapkido and Tae Kwon Do. Marshall joined the U.S. Navy and served in Vietnam. While serving in the 6th Fleet, he won NATO heavyweight kickboxing championship. Upon retiring from military service, Marshall entered the sheriff's department in Shelby County, Tennessee (Memphis). While working undercover, he found acting lessons had become pivotal. In 1978, Marshall moved to Los Angeles, becoming a full-time actor.

Salvatore "Sam" Greco is an Australian retired full contact karateka, heavyweight K-1 kickboxer, and mixed martial artist. He was the 1994 Karate World Cup champion and holds notable kickboxing victories over Branko Cikatic, Ernesto Hoost, Mike Bernardo, Stefan Leko, and Ray Sefo, as well as MMA victories over Heath Herring and Shungo Oyama.

Joe Corley is an American karate and kickboxing competitor, instructor, broadcaster and promoter who helped achieve the success of the Professional Karate Association and the early establishment of professional kickboxing in the United States. Joe Corley is CEO of PKA Worldwide.

Zane Troy Frazier is an American former karateka, kickboxer and mixed martial artist who competed in the heavyweight division. After a successful career in karate during the 1980s in which he won numerous international accolades, Frazier then turned his hand to kickboxing and became a United States and North American Champion. After taking part at the inaugural Ultimate Fighting Championship event in 1993, he would continue his career in MMA until officially retiring in 2010.
