Angella Taylor-Issajenko, CM is a Canadian coach and former sprinter. She won an Olympic silver medal in the 4 × 100 metres relay in Los Angeles 1984. At the Commonwealth Games she won seven medals, including the 100 metres title in Brisbane 1982 and the 200 metres in Edinburgh 1986.
Gregory Haughton is a Jamaican 400 metres runner. He won three Olympic medals, one at the 1996 Summer Olympics and two at the 2000 Summer Olympics. His personal best for the 400 m was 44.56 seconds.
Nicola Clare Sanders is a former British track and field sprinter. She began her career as a 400 metres hurdles specialist before concentrating on the 400 metres from 2006 onwards. Richard Charles Mitchell OAM was an Australian sprinter and triple Olympian who competed in the 400 metres and 4 × 400 metres relay. Mitchell won a silver medal at the 1980 Summer Olympics, and also won one gold, two silver medals, and one bronze medal at the Commonwealth Games in 1978 and 1982.
Irene Piotrowski, was a Canadian female track and field athlete, born in Skaudvilė, Lithuania. In 1964, Piotrowski broke the World and Canadian 100 metre record at 11.4 seconds. She competed in the 1964 Olympic Games in the 100 metre and 200 metre. She won a silver medal in the 100 yards and a bronze in the 220 yard sprints at the 1966 British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Kingston, Jamaica. She competed in the 1968 Summer Olympics in Mexico City, in the 200 metres, 4x100 metre relay and the 100 metre where she set the Canadian records. She claimed the bronze medal in the women's 100 metres at the 1967 Pan American Games in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, and ran the anchor leg on the 4 x 100 metre relay squad that took the silver medal. She won the Yukon Flour Packing title in 1974, backpacking 500 pounds in 100 feet, and 600 pounds in 50 ft. She died in 2020 in Los Angeles, California at the age of 79.
Linda Staines is a female former British track and field athlete who competed mainly in the 400 metres. She represented Great Britain at the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul in both the 400 metres and 4 x 400 metres relay, and won a bronze medal in the 4 × 400 m relay at the 1993 World Championships. She also won four medals at the Commonwealth Games, including an individual silver medal in the 400 metres in 1990 and two relay gold medals.

Michael Walter Mathieu is a retired Bahamian sprinter hailing from Freeport, Grand Bahama who specialized in the 200 metres and 400 metres. She won the bronze medal for the 400 metres, and ultimately, led her national team to claim the sprint relay title at the 2009 Summer Universiade in Belgrade, Serbia. She is also a three-time junior national champion, a two-time silver medalist at the Canadian Track and Field Championships.

In the relay, she represented Great Britain at the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul, South Korea, while at the Commonwealth Games, she won a silver medal in Edinburgh 1986 and a gold medal in Auckland 1990.
The 4 × 400 metres relay at the Summer Olympics is the longest track relay event held at the multi-sport event. The men's relay has been present on the Olympic athletics programme since 1912 and the women's event has been continuously held since the 1972 Olympics. The inaugural and so far the only mixed 4 × 400 metres relay was held at the 2020 Olympics. It is the most prestigious 4×400 m relay race at elite level. At the 1908 Summer Olympics, a precursor to this event was held – the 1600 m medley relay. This event, with two legs of 200 m, one of 400 m, and a final leg of 800 m, was the first track relay in Olympic history.

Patty Loverock is a Canadian sprinter. She competed in the women's 100 metres and 200 metres at the 1976 Summer Olympics, where she got to the semi-finals in both events. She set a Canadian record of 23.03 in her quarter-final of the women's 200 metres. Loverock ran second leg of the women's 4 x 100 metres relay at the Montreal Olympics, the team set a Canadian and Commonwealth record of 43.17 second finishing in 4th place.
Kendall Ellis is an American sprinter. Ellis won gold in the 4x400 m relay and bronze in the Mixed 4x400 metres at the Tokyo Olympics. She competed in the 400 meters at the 2017 and 2019 World Championships, winning gold medals as a part of prelim 4×400 m relays. As a junior, Ellis took gold in the 4×400 m relay and bronze in the 400 meters at the 2015 Pan American Junior Championships.
Dominique Blake is a Jamaican track and field athlete. Blake won a gold medal at the 2010 Central American and Caribbean Games and was accidentally awarded a bronze medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics. She was banned for 4+1⁄2 years after testing positive for methylhexanamine and returned to athletic competition in 2017.
