Doomsday King is the eighth studio album by Swedish melodic death metal band The Crown which was released on 27 September 2010 via Century Media Records. [1]
A music video was made for "Doomsday King" and "Falling 'neath the Heaven's Sea".

Jordan Campbell of Last Rites compared the album to Possessed 13 calling "Angel of Death 1839" "fuckin' vicious". He also stated that after "Age of Iron", the whole experience becomes mediocre. Specifically, the vocalist, Jonas Stålhammar loses its flavor. Campbell also criticized the roles of Olsfelt, Tervonen, and Sunesson who lost their charm here due to their previous experience with other bands such as Angel Blake and Engel. Songs like "The Tempter and the Bible Black", "Soul Slasher", "Desolation Domain" are also have their flaws such as the tiring sounds and unfulfilled ambitions and false promises. [5]
Scott Alisoglu of Blabbermouth.net had praised the album quoting saying: "When that first menacing riff blackens the sun, that vibrato sends a shiver up the spine, and that ominous bell clangs, the anticipation of what's to come is powerful enough to put down a bull elephant". [2]
Larry Owens of the Teeth of the Divine praised songs such as "Age of Iron", "Through Eyes of Oblivion" and "Soul Slasher" while calling "The Tempter and the Bible Black", "Blood O.D." and "He Who Rises In Might" as mundane and boring. [6]
Praising for those songs also came from No Clean Singing [7] and Loud with the latter of which commented that despite repetitive nature, the album is a solid release, but suggests to listen to Deathrace King or Crowned in Terror before listening to this one. [8]

Arch Enemy is a Swedish melodic death metal band, originally a supergroup from Halmstad, formed in 1995. Its members were in bands such as Carcass, Armageddon, Carnage, Mercyful Fate, Spiritual Beggars, The Agonist, Nevermore, and Eucharist. It was founded by Carcass guitarist Michael Amott along with Johan Liiva, who were both originally from the death metal band Carnage. The band has released eleven studio albums, three live albums, three video albums and four EPs. The band was originally fronted by Johan Liiva, who was replaced by German vocalist Angela Gossow in 2000. Gossow left the band in March 2014 to become the group's manager and was replaced by Canadian vocalist Alissa White-Gluz.
The Haunted is a Swedish heavy metal band from Gothenburg, formed in 1996. The original members were Anders and Jonas Björler, Peter Dolving, Adrian Erlandsson and Patrik Jensen. Both of the Björler brothers and Erlandsson were members of the seminal melodic death metal band At the Gates, a pioneering force in the Swedish death metal scene.

Flotsam and Jetsam is an American thrash metal band that was formed in Phoenix, Arizona, in 1981. Before settling on its current name in 1984, the band had existed under three different names, Paradox, Dredlox and Dogz. Their current lineup includes vocalist Eric "A.K" Knutson, guitarists Michael Gilbert and Steve Conley, bassist Bill Bodily, and drummer Ken Mary. Flotsam and Jetsam went through several lineup changes over the years, leaving Knutson as the only constant member. They are also notable for featuring a then-unknown Jason Newsted, who was Flotsam and Jetsam's bassist from 1981 to 1986, when he left the band shortly after the release of their debut album to join Metallica.
At the Gates is a Swedish death metal band from Gothenburg, formed in 1990. The band was a major progenitor of Gothenburg-style melodic death metal alongside In Flames and Dark Tranquillity. Prior to their first disbandment in 1996, At the Gates released four albums, ending with and including Slaughter of the Soul (1995), which has been seen as a landmark in the mid-1990s Swedish death metal scene as well as being a major inspiration for many metalcore bands. After reuniting for a one-off tour in 2008, the band reformed once again in 2011, and they have since released three more albums: At War with Reality (2014), To Drink from the Night Itself (2018) and The Nightmare of Being (2021).
Marko Tapani "Marco" Hietala is a Finnish heavy metal vocalist, bassist and songwriter. Internationally, he is best known as the former bassist, male vocalist and secondary composer to Tuomas Holopainen, of the symphonic metal band Nightwish. He is also the vocalist and bassist as well as composer and lyricist for the heavy metal band Tarot.

The Red Chord is an American deathcore band from Revere, Massachusetts, formed in 1999. Crowned in Terror is the fifth album by Swedish melodic death metal band The Crown. This is one of two albums by The Crown not to have Johan Lindstrand on vocals. Instead Tomas Lindberg handled the vocal duties. Later, the vocals were re-recorded by Lindstrand and the album was re-released as Crowned Unholy.
The Burning is the debut album by Crown of Thorns, originally released in 1995 and later re-issued after the band changed their name to the Crown. The album infuses traditional thrash metal-based death metal with melodic black metal elements.

It is a remake of the band's fifth studio album, Crowned in Terror, with re-recorded vocal tracks by Johan Lindstrand, re-recorded bass tracks by Magnus Olsfelt, a new version of the intro now programmed by drummer Janne Saarenpää, drum sound digitally enhanced by Janne, and synthesizer-enhanced parts, all programmed by Janne.

The Strength / The Sound / The Songs is the debut studio album by Danish rock band Volbeat. Released in 2005, the album initially failed to chart. However, in July 2006 the album entered the Danish Charts, peaking at number 18. The album would stay on that chart for 21 non-consecutive weeks. Volbeat's label at the time, Mascot Records, had only a limited distribution deal in the United States, meaning that the album went largely unnoticed in that country. Volbeat would not breakthrough in the United States until 2010 with their fourth album, Beyond Hell/Above Heaven.

In this album, Johan Lindstrand returned for the first time since his departure after Possessed 13 came out in 2003. The album is the first not to feature lead guitarist Marcus Sunesson or drummer Janne Saarenpää, with Robin Sorqvist replacing the former. Drums on this album were performed by guitarist Marko Tervonen, except track 4 which features Henrik Axelsson. Axelsson would go on to join the band officially and appears on the following two albums.
