Strait Out of the Box is the first box set album by American country music artist George Strait. It contains four albums' worth of music, dating from 1976 to 1995. It mainly consists of Strait's singles, except for a select few that he decided to exclude. They were replaced by his choice of album cuts and several studio outtakes. It also contains his three singles recorded in the 1970s for indie label D Records, one of which, "I Just Can't Go on Dying Like This", was re-recorded for Strait's 2013 album Love Is Everything.

This album produced four singles for Tillis on the Hot Country Songs charts: the Top Five hits "Shake the Sugar Tree" (#3) and "Let That Pony Run" (#4), as well as the Top 20 hits "Cleopatra, Queen of Denial" (#11) and "Do You Know Where Your Man Is" (#16). The demo tape of "Shake the Sugar Tree", sung by Stephanie Bentley, was incorporated into Tillis's recording.

Singles from the album were "Deep Down" at a #6 peak on the Hot Country Singles chart, "The River and the Highway" at #8, "It's Lonely Out There" at #14, and "Betty's Got a Bass Boat" at #62, her first single since the late 1980s to miss Top 40 entirely. Bruce Hornsby's "Mandolin Rain" is covered on this album as well. The album has been certified Gold for shipments of over 500,000 units in the U.S.
Every Time is the sixth studio album by American country music artist Pam Tillis. It was released on June 30, 1998 by Arista Nashville. The album peaked No. 26 on the Billboard country albums charts. Singles from the album were "I Said a Prayer" and the title track, which peaked at No. 12 and No. 38 on Hot Country Songs in 1998. "A Great Disguise" was previously recorded by Martina McBride on her 1995 album Wild Angels.
War Paint is the fourth studio album by American country music artist Lorrie Morgan. The album was released via BNA Records in 1994. It contains the singles "My Night to Howl," "If You Came Back from Heaven," and "Heart Over Mind." Also included are covers of George Jones' "A Good Year for the Roses", recorded here as a duet with Sammy Kershaw, and Jeannie Seely's "Don't Touch Me." The cassette version of the album omits the track "Exit 99."

Evolution is the fourth studio album by American country music artist Martina McBride. It was released in August 1997 by RCA Nashville. The album produced six singles, all of which have charted on the US Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. The first single, "Still Holding On", is a duet with Clint Black and was originally recorded by Black on his 1997 album Nothin' but the Taillights. "Still Holding On" peaked at number 11. The second and fifth singles, "A Broken Wing" and "Wrong Again", both reached number one. "A Broken Wing" was also McBride's first single to chart on the Billboard Hot 100 and was her first major crossover hit. The album's third single, "Valentine", a duet with Jim Brickman", is a re-recording of a song which Brickman and McBride previously released from his 1997 album Picture This. The original Picture This version charted at #3 on the AC charts and #68 on the country charts, while the re-recording featured on the Evolution album was a Top 10 country hit, with a peak at number 9. The fourth and six singles, "Happy Girl" and "Whatever You Say", both peaked at number 2. The album was certified 3× Platinum by the RIAA.

It chronicles her greatest hits from her first four albums for Arista Nashville. The tracks "Land of the Living" and "All the Good Ones Are Gone" are new to this compilation. Both were released as singles, reaching Top Five on the Hot Country Songs charts in 1997. The album was certified Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for shipments of over 1,000,000 copies in the U.S. This was the last of her albums to receive certification in sales. "Land of the Living" would also be Pam's last top 10 appearance in the Country Singles Charts.

It is also the last album she recorded for the Arista label. Its lead-off single, "Please", was a #22 hit on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts in 2002. "It Isn't Just Raining" was later recorded in 2003 by its co-writer, Jennifer Hanson, on her self-titled debut album, and the title track was previously recorded by Mindy McCready on her 1999 album I'm Not So Tough. "Please" would go on to be Pam's last appearance on the Country Singles Chart after it peaked in spring of 2001.

The title track is a cover of the Barbra Streisand/Bryan Adams duet. "What a Wonderful World", a cover of a song made famous by Louis Armstrong, is also included here.
