Kukatpally is a suburb located in north western part of Hyderabad in the Indian state of Telangana. It is the headquarters of Balanagar mandal in Malkajgiri revenue division of Medchal-Malkajgiri district. It was a municipality prior to its merger into the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, now it is the headquarters of "North Zone of GHMC".

Boianapalli Vinod Kumar is an Indian politician and former Member of Parliament, presently serving as Vice-chairman of Telangana State Planning Board. He represented the Karimnagar constituency of Telangana State in the 16th Lok Sabha (2014-2019) and Hanamkonda constituency in the 14th Lok Sabha (2004-2009). He is one of the founding members of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) party and is presently a politburo member and served as party's deputy Floor Leader in the 16th Lok Sabha.

Kalvakuntla Chandrashekar Rao, often referred to by his initials KCR, is an Indian politician who served as the Chief Minister of Telangana since 2 June 2014. He is the founder and leader of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi, a state party in India. He is known for leading the Telangana movement to achieve statehood for Telangana. Previously, he served as the Union Minister of Labour and Employment from 2004 to 2006. He represents Gajwel constituency in the Legislative Assembly of Telangana. Rao took oath as the first Chief Minister of Telangana in 2014 and was re-elected for the second term in 2018.

Hyderabad-based My Home Group is firming up plans for a 30-35 million sq feet project at a cost of around $2 billion at Kokapet to build one of the largest private IT parks in India. My Home Constructions Pvt Ltd is developing it as a premium business district on the lines of Gurugram’s Cyber Hub that was developed by DLF. The commercial project being developed on 80-acre plot, will comprise a combination of SEZ and non-SEZ development along with MICE tourism, star hotel, retail and entertainment facilities. The layout development is proposed with seamless connectivity to the Outer Ring Road by construction of Trumpet Interchange at Kokapet layout and additional entry and exit to the ORR at Narsingi. OKOS Gokarting is also located in Kokapet. A Mass Rapid Transit System (MRTS) is being planned in Kokapet area. The earlier proposed elevated bus rapid transit system (EBRTS) project, also known as Metro Neo from Kukatpally Housing Board (KPHB) to Narsingi covering the IT corridor like Kokapet has been put in cold storage by Government of Telangana.

Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) is a credit-linked subsidy scheme by the Government of India to facilitate access to affordable housing for the low and moderate-income residents of the country. It envisaged a target of building 2 crore (20 million) affordable houses by 31 March 2022. It has two components: Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana(Urban) (PMAY-U) for the urban poor and Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana (Gramin) (PMAY-G and also PMAY-R) for the rural poor, the former administered by Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs and the latter by Ministry of Rural Development. This scheme converges with other schemes to ensure houses have a toilet, Saubhagya Scheme for universal electricity connection, Ujjwala Yojana LPG connection, access to drinking water and Jan Dhan banking facilities, etc.

A Member of Legislative Assembly for Sircilla, Rao is the working president of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi.
The Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project (KLIP) is a multi-purpose irrigation project on the Godavari River in Kaleshwaram, Bhupalpally, Telangana, India. Currently the world's largest multi-stage lift irrigation project, its farthest upstream influence is at the confluence of the Pranahita and Godavari rivers. The Pranahita River is itself a confluence of various smaller tributaries including the Wardha, Painganga, and Wainganga rivers which combine to form the seventh-largest drainage basin on the subcontinent, with an estimated annual discharge of more than 6,427,900 acre-feet (7,930 cubic hectometres) or 280 TMC. It remains untapped as its course is principally through dense forests and other ecologically sensitive zones such as wildlife sanctuaries.
Gadwal Vijayalakshmi is an Indian politician serving as the current mayor of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) since 11 February 2021. A former American citizen, she emigrated back to India to join politics and went on to become the fifth woman mayor of Hyderabad and the first post formation of the state of Telangana. She is a member of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) party based in Telangana.
Legislative Assembly elections were held in Telangana on 30 November 2023 to elect all 119 members of Telangana Legislative Assembly. The votes will be counted and the results will be declared on 3 December 2023.
The Hyderabad Airport Express Metro or Corridor IV is an approved Hyderabad Metro line from Raidurg metro station to Rajiv Gandhi International Airport. The total length of the line is 31 km (19 mi). Hyderabad Airport Express Metro is fully funded by Government of Telangana through the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) mode.
