Douglas Gale FBA is an economics professor at New York University. [1] At NYU, Gale is a Julius Silver professor. [2] He was elected a fellow of the British Academy in 2016. [3] [4] Gale is a specialist in general equilibrium theory, financial economics and banking, experimental economics and decision theory. [5]

Education

Douglas Gale attended Trent University from 1967-1970 and obtained a Bachelor of Science in Economics after graduating. [1] From 1970-1972 Gale attended Carleton University and received a Master of Arts in Economics. [1] Gale then received his Ph.D in Economics in 1975 from Christ's College, University of Cambridge. [6] Afterwards, Gale conducted a junior research fellowship at Churchill College, University of Cambridge from 1975-1978. [7] [1]

During his career, Douglas Gale has worked at several universities and academic institutions such as Churchill College, Cambridge, London School of Economics, University of Pennsylvania, University of Pittsburgh, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Boston University, and New York University. Kenneth George "Ken" Binmore, is a British mathematician, economist, and game theorist. He is a Professor Emeritus of Economics at University College London (UCL) and a Visiting Emeritus Professor of Economics at the University of Bristol.

Craig Calhoun American sociologist (born 1952)

Craig Jackson Calhoun is an American sociologist, currently University Professor of Social Sciences at Arizona State University. An advocate of using social science to address issues of public concern, he was the Director of the London School of Economics and Political Science from September 2012 until September 2016, after which he became the first president of the Berggruen Institute. Prior to leading LSE, Calhoun led the Social Science Research Council, and was University Professor of the Social Sciences at New York University and Director of NYU's Institute for Public Knowledge. With Richard Sennett he co-founded NYLON, an interdisciplinary working seminar for graduate students in New York and London who bring ethnographic and historical research to bear on politics, culture, and society.

Franklin Marvin Fisher was an American economist. He taught economics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 1960 to 2004.

Frank Hahn

Frank Horace Hahn FBA was a British economist whose work focused on general equilibrium theory, monetary theory, Keynesian economics and monetarism. A famous problem of economic theory, the conditions under which money can have a positive value in a general equilibrium, is called "Hahn's problem" after him.

Alexander Ljungqvist is a Swedish economist, educator, scholar, writer, and speaker. He is a professor of finance at the Stockholm School of Economics, where he holds the Stefan Persson Family Chair in Entrepreneurial Finance. His areas of expertise include corporate finance, investment banking, initial public offerings, entrepreneurial finance, private equity, venture capital, corporate governance, and asset pricing. Professor Ljungqvist teaches MBA and executive courses in private equity and venture capital and a PhD course in corporate finance.

Stephen Edward Morris is an economic theorist and game theorist especially known for his research in the field of global games. Since July 2019, he has been Professor of Economics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Prior to that he taught at Princeton, Yale, and the University of Pennsylvania. He was the editor of Econometrica for the period 2007–2011, and in 2019 served as president of the Econometric Society.

Roger Guesnerie is an economist born in France in 1943. He is currently the Chaired Professor of Economic Theory and Social Organization of the Collège de France, Director of Studies at the École des hautes études en sciences sociales, and the chairman of the board of directors of the Paris School of Economics.

Kevin Hjortshøj O'Rourke, is an Irish economist and historian, who specialises in economic history and international economics. Since 2019, he has been Professor of Economics at New York University Abu Dhabi. He was Professor of Economics at Trinity College, Dublin from 2000 to 2011, and had previously taught at Columbia University and University College, Dublin. From 2011 to 2019, he was Chichele Professor of Economic History at the University of Oxford and a Fellow of All Souls College, Oxford.

Viral Acharya

Viral V. Acharya is an Indian economist who was appointed as Deputy Governor of Reserve Bank of India (RBI). He also served as a member of the advisory council of the RBI Academy and was a member of the Academic Council of the National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM), Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) since 2014. As of 23 January 2017, he was appointed to serve a three-year term as a Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank of India.He resigned from the post in July 2019 with 6 months left for his completion of term.

John Reginald Piggott is an Australian economist. He is the Director of the ARC Centre of Excellence in Population Ageing Research (CEPAR) at the University of New South Wales, Australia, where he is Scientia Professor of Economics. He is a Fellow of the Academy of the Social Sciences in Australia.
