Douglas Gonzaga Leite (born 27 March 1980), sometimes known as just Douglas, is a Brazilian football coach and former player who played as a goalkeeper. He is the current assistant coach of Ituano.

Career

Douglas Leite came to football at St. Joseph Sports Club. It went through several clubs in Brazil and abroad, and hit his engagement with the Avaí on May 11, 2008, where he was reserve goalkeeper Eduardo Martini's campaign team in the Campeonato Brasileiro Serie B 2008 culminating in the achievement of access the series A. Later, Douglas Leite was hired by Mirassol to compete in the Paulista championship in 2009, but did not even play for the club is moving straight to the Guarani to fight for the championship.

In July 2013 Leite signed for Azerbaijan Premier League side Khazar Lankaran. [1] On 25 November 2013 it was announced that Douglas would leave Khazar Lankaran to re-sign with Guarani for the 2014 Série A2 season. [2]

The Khazar Lankaran 2012–13 season is Khazar Lankaran's eighth Azerbaijan Premier League season. Khazar Lankaran finished in 8th place in the league, after competing in the Relegation Championship during the second half of the season. They also reached the final of the Azerbaijan Cup, eventually losing to Neftchi Baku on penalties after a 0–0 draw. They competed in the 2012–13 UEFA Europa League, getting knocked out by Lech Poznań of Poland at the second qualifying round stage having previously defeated Nõmme Kalju of Estonia, 4–2, in the first qualifying round. Khazar started the season under Yunis Huseinov, until he resigned on 31 October 2012. Erik Roqueta Capilla was appointed as their caretaker manager on 1 November 2012. On 14 November 2012, Carles Martorell Baqués was appointed as the club's permanent manager, replacing caretaker manager Erik Roqueta Capilla. Baqués resigned as manager on 26 February 2013. On 8 March 2013 John Toshack was announced as the new manager, taking over from 15 March 2013.

The Khazar Lankaran 2013-14 season is Khazar Lankaran's ninth Azerbaijan Premier League season. It is their first full season with John Toshack as manager. They started the season by competing in the 2013–14 UEFA Europa League, reaching the 2nd qualifying round, after defeating Sliema Wanderers, before losing 0-10 on aggregate to Maccabi Haifa. As runners up in the previous season Azerbaijan Cup, Khazar took part in the revamped Azerbaijan Supercup, emerging victorious against Neftchi Baku. They currently taking part in the 2013–14 Azerbaijan Cup and 2013–14 Azerbaijan Premier League.
