Kasturba Medical College, Manipal and Kasturba Medical College, Mangaluru, together known as KMC, are two private medical colleges in the state of Karnataka, India, established in 1953 and 1955. Baba Saheb Ambedkar Education University, formerly known as West Bengal University of Teachers' Training, Education Planning and Administration (WBUTTEPA), was established by an Act of the West Bengal legislature published in the Kolkata Gazette, Extraordinary, 16 January 2015. This is the first university in India set up by any State Government exclusively for training teachers. The university was established in 2015 and Prof. Mita Banerjee became the first Vice Chancellor. It offers different teacher's training courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate level. The courses are approved by National Council for Teacher Education. It has 200 teachers' training colleges affiliated to its jurisdiction and its horizon encompasses the entire state of West Bengal.
Dr. B. R. Ambedkar is a 2005 Indian biographical film in Kannada, based on the life of Indian social reformer, jurist, academic-politician, B. R. Ambedkar. The film covers the period from his birth right up to his death. The actress Tara plays the role of Ambedkar's first wife Ramabai Ambedkar, while Bhavya plays Savita Ambedkar, his second wife. The film is directed by Sharan Kumar Kabbur.
Baudhacharya Shanti Swaroop Baudh was an Indian writer, Buddhist scholar, painter, publisher and Pali language expert. He was an Ambedkarite-Buddhist activist. He was born in 1949 at Old Delhi in a Jatav Dalit family. In 1975, he set up Samyak Prakashan, a publishing house dedicated to Ambedkarite, Navayana Buddhist, Pali literature and Dalit literature. Samyak Prakashan has published over 2000 books many of which have been translated into some 14 different languages including English, Sinhalese, Nepalese, Burmese. He was a board of editors member of Dhamma Darpan and Dalit Dastak magazines. He was Delhi state president of Buddhist Society of India.
Dr. B.R. Ambedkar State Institute of Medical Sciences, established in 2021, is a full-fledged tertiary Government Medical college and hospital. This college is located at SAS Nagar, Mohali, in Punjab. The college offers the degree of Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS). The college is recognized by National Medical Commission and is affiliated with the Baba Farid University of Health Sciences. Like all other Indian medical colleges, student admission in this college happens on the basis of merit through National Eligibility and Entrance Test. The hospital associated with this college is one of the largest hospitals in Mohali.
