Dror Bikel (born December 1964 in Berkeley, California) [1] is an American attorney recognized for representing Judith Giuliani, [2] [3] [4] the former wife of New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani; Alexis Adams, who was in a relationship with entertainer Flo Rida; [5] [6] and for his media appearances as a legal commentator.

Bikel is a founding partner of the Manhattan-based firm Bikel Rosenthal & Schanfield, LLP. [7] He currently hosts the podcast Was Justice Delivered? His book, The 1% Divorce: When Titans Clash, was published in 2020. [8]

Early life

Dror Bikel was born in 1964 in Berkeley, California, and raised in Brookline, Massachusetts. Bikel earned a B.A. from Brandeis University in 1987 and obtained a juris doctor degree from Yeshiva University's Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in 1992. [9] He has been a member of the New York Bar since 1993. [10]

In 1990, Bikel clerked for the Israeli Ministry of Justice, Department of Human Rights, where he handled inquiries involving human rights abuses by the Israeli Defense Forces. He authored a note in the Cardozo Law Review titled "Freedom of Speech During a Prolonged Military Occupation." [11]

In 1993, Bikel served as a Foreign Law Clerk to Justice Gabriel Back, Supreme Court of Israel. [11] From 1994 to 2005, Bikel acted as Senior Lawyer with the New York firm Lester Schwab Katz & Dwyer, representing clients in commercial and insurance defense matters, including Long Island Rail Road in the Long Island Railroad shooting. [12]

In 2012, Bikel was nominated to serve as co-chair of the Matrimonial Section of the New York County Lawyers' Association. In 2016, he served on the Board of Directors of the New York County Lawyers' Association. Bikel is currently a founding partner and litigator with the Manhattan-based Bikel Rosenthal & Schanfield, LLP. [7]

In 2022, Bikel garnered national attention for representing Judith Giuliani in a lawsuit against her ex-husband and former New York City Mayor, Rudolph Giuliani, for failure to pay out the agreed terms of their divorce settlement. [2] [3] [4] He has been featured in The New York Times , [13] People, [2] Newsweek , [4] Business Insider , [5] and Inside Edition . [14]

Personal life

Bikel is married with two children and resides in New York City. [1] Bikel holds a second-degree black belt in Krav Maga and is a full instructor with the Krav Maga Federation. [15] [16] Bikel is involved in the Friends of the Israeli Defense Forces. [17]
