Dunipace Football Club are a Scottish football club based in Denny, Stirlingshire. Nicknamed the Pace, they were formed in 1888 and are based at Westfield Park. The team plays in the East of Scotland League Premier Division, having moved from the junior leagues in 2018. [1]

The club won the Scottish Junior Cup in 1905–06, defeating Kirkintilloch Rob Roy 1–0 in a replay at Brockville Park, Falkirk, following a 2–2 draw in the first tie at Meadowside, Partick. [2] Dunipace were also runners-up to Inverkeithing United in the final seven years later.

The club's management team of Danny Smith (Manager), Alan Moffat (Assistant Manager) and Bruce Totten (Coach) was appointed in November 2020. [3] Both Danny & Alan previously had spells as players with the club. [4] [5]

On 27 April 2018 the club announced that it had successfully applied to leave the West Region of junior football and join the East of Scotland League for season 2018–19. As part of the club's move to senior football, its name was changed to reflect this, by dropping the term "Juniors". [6] This was a part of a larger movement of junior clubs to the East of Scotland Football League. [1]

At the start of their first season in senior football, the club's Westfield Park ground was upgraded with an artificial turf surface and floodlights installed, reopening in October 2018. [7] Dunipace won their first trophy as a senior club in August 2021 after defeating Broomhill 31 in the delayed final of the 2019–20 South Challenge Cup and were runners-up in two cup the following season.

The club won their first league title in 25 years after securing the East of Scotland League First Division at the end of the 2023–24 season, gaining promotion to the Premier Division. [8]

Formed in 1897 by Camelon F.C., Dunblane F.C., East Stirlingshire F.C., Fair City Athletic F.C., Falkirk F.C., Kilsyth Wanderers F.C., King's Park F.C., St Johnstone F.C. and Stenhousemuir F.C.. This Scottish football competition was basically a continuation of the Midland Football League in Scotland and Central Football League.


The Edinburgh Football League was formed in 1894 in Scotland as one of several supplementary football leagues that were created in order to increase the number of fixtures for Scottish Football League clubs. It changed its name to the East of Scotland Football League in 1896 when Dundee joined.

Dunipace is a village in the west of the Falkirk council area of Scotland. The village is 6.3 miles (10.1 km) south of Stirling and 5.3 miles (8.5 km) north-west of Falkirk. Alexander McNair was a Scottish football player and manager. He played as a defender for Celtic for 21 years and represented the Scotland national team in 15 official internationals between 1906 and 1920. McNair also represented the Scottish League XI 15 times. He then managed Dundee from 1925 until 1927.

Kilsyth Wanderers Football Club was a Scottish association football club based in the town of Kilsyth, North Lanarkshire.

Clydebank Football Club was a Scottish football club based in the town of Clydebank, West Dunbartonshire. The fourth entity to carry the name, Clydebank were formed in 1965 following the relocation of East Stirlingshire Clydebank F.C., a club formed by a contentious merger of Clydebank Juniors and East Stirlingshire in 1964 with the intention of creating a senior club for the town; this arrangement lasted only one year before East Stirlingshire continued alone as before and a new Clydebank team was formed. Playing their home games at Kilbowie Park, they were elected to the Scottish Football League in 1966. Clydebank had two short spells in the Scottish Premier Division, and reached the semi-final of the Scottish Cup in 1990, whilst a First Division club.
