As the dunes are a nesting area for sensitive species, public access is limited to the paths and trails.

The Hatfield–McCoy Trails, located in West Virginia, is a nationally known trail system most popular for its off-highway vehicle trails. The trail system is a multi-county project, including the West Virginia counties of Logan, Kanawha, Wyoming, McDowell, Mercer, Wayne, Lincoln, Mingo, and Boone. The Grand National Cross Country Series is an American motorcycle racing series. The off-road race series was founded by Dave Coombs in 1975 and is sanctioned by the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA). The competition is similar to motocross but, instead of using an enclosed race track, it features extended cross-country, off-road courses of 8 to 12 miles in length and competitions lasting up to 3 hours. GNCC races are physically demanding, leading as many as 2,200 riders through tracks ranging from woods, to hills, mud, rocks, roots, motocross track sections and more. The series has classes for off-road motorcycles, ATV and eMTB vehicles. GNCC Racing is open to both professional and amateur racers in a variety of skill level and age classes. Can-Am is a subsidiary of Bombardier Recreational Products, which was founded in 1942. Can-Am began in 1972 and initially focused solely on motocross dirt bikes designed for competition racing. After a hiatus, they began producing ATVs and on-road vehicles such as the Spyder, which is described as part motorcycle and part convertible sports car. The original Can-Am headquarters still exists at the Bombardier test facility within the Circuit Yvon Duhamel and is located a few miles south of Valcourt.

The Yamaha WR250F is an off-road motorcycle made by Yamaha Motor Company. It has a 250 cc (15 cu in) liquid-cooled single nikasil coated cylinder engine. First offered in 2001, it shared many components and design concepts with the YZ250F motocross model. It is basically the YZ250F detuned slightly for more controllable power, with a headlight and lighting coil, softer suspension, a kickstand, better noise specifications, larger radiators, and lower emissions. The WR250F is basically a YZ250F modified for enduro competitions, extreme enduro competitions and hard enduro competitions and the practice of these extreme sports. The WR in the name indicates a wide-ratio gear box common to most enduro or trail bikes and stands in contrast to the close-ratio gearbox essential to a motocross racer. Over the years the WR250F has benefited from the advances made in the YZ motocross version gaining advancements such as an aluminum frame and improved suspension.
The 'Hancock Brook Trail' is a 2.8-mile (4.5 km) Blue-Blazed hiking trail Waterville Section of the City of Waterbury in New Haven County close to the borders of Thomaston and Plymouth, Litchfield County, Connecticut. It is contained overwhelmingly in a section of the Mattatuck State Forest bounded by Hancock Brook on the east, Thomaston Avenue on the west and Spruce Brook Road / Route 262 to the north.
Whissenhunt OHV Trails is a system of trails suitable for all-terrain vehicles or ATV's, and offroad motorcycles (dirtbikes) located north of Atlanta, Georgia. All Full size trucks, Jeeps, and 4x4's are not permitted on these trails. This trail system is located in Dahlonega, Georgia in the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest. The system offers about 11 miles (18 km) of trails throughout different terrains through the forest. There is parking available, but very limited, as well as other facilities such as camping, a loading ramp, picnic tables, and public restrooms.
Red Bud MX is a US motocross race track located in Buchanan, Michigan, USA. The track is located just north of town, surrounded the agricultural farming fields. It is home to one of the largest motocross tracks in the Midwest, is favorite to many pro riders, and is also known to have "The best dirt on earth." The track attracts 30,000+ attendees every Fourth of July weekend for the AMA Motocross Championship.
