Dwight Anthony Beverly (born December 5, 1961) is a former professional American football running back who played in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Illinois.

Early life and high school

Beverly was born and grew up in Long Beach, California and attended Locke High School in South Los Angeles. After his senior season he was selected to play in the Prep Senior Bowl. [1]

College career

Beverly began his collegiate career at Long Beach City College before transferring to Illinois after his sophomore year. [2] Beverly rushed for a team leading 390 yards and two touchdowns as a junior. [3] As a senior he was named first-team All-Big Ten Conference after rushing for 685 yards and nine touchdowns with nine receptions for 77 yards and another touchdown as Illinois won the Big Ten Conference title. [4]

Professional career

Beverly was selected by the Indianapolis Colts in the sixth round of the 1984 NFL Draft but was cut during training camp. [5] He was signed by the Portland Breakers of the United States Football League. [6] Beverly was signed by the Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League after the end of the USFL season and was re-signed by the team midway through the 1986 season. [7] [8] Beverly was signed by the New Orleans Saints in October 1987 as a replacement player during the 1987 NFL players strike. He rushed 62 times for 217 yards and two touchdowns and started three games and was released when the strike ended. [9] [10] Beverly was signed by the Stampeders for a third time in 1988 but was released during the preseason. [11]

William Erik Kramer is an American former professional football player who was a quarterback in the National Football League (NFL) and Canadian Football League (CFL). He attended John Burroughs High School in Burbank, California. After attending Pierce College and playing as their quarterback, Kramer transferred to North Carolina State University. He was not drafted by an NFL team, but did see action in 1987, when he played for the Atlanta Falcons as a replacement player during the NFL players strike. He would then spend some time in the CFL with the Calgary Stampeders. Kramer would return to the NFL in 1991, when he became a surprise starter for the Detroit Lions after injuries sidelined Rodney Peete. Kramer played in 13 games, led the Lions to a 12–4 record, their first playoff victory since 1962, and a trip to the NFC Championship Game.

John Coleman Hufnagel is a special advisor for the Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He has previously served as the Stampeders' President, General Manager, Head Coach, and Offensive Coordinator. He played quarterback for fifteen professional seasons in the CFL and National Football League (NFL). Prior to his hiring to the Stampeders on December 3, 2007, he was the offensive coordinator of the New York Giants of the NFL.

He played safety and quarterback in high school. Stevens has also been a member of the Carolina Panthers and New York Giants.
