He is son of Shri E. C. Thomas and Smt. Anasthassia Thomas;born at Edavilangu,Thrissur on 20 January 1965. He studied Pre-Degree from MES Asmabi College,Kodungallur and Teachers Training Course (T.T.C) from Krishna Teachers Training Institute,Panangad. He worked as a Headmaster in High Schools in Thrissur District. He was a Member of C.P.I. District Committee,Thrissur;Secretary,C.P.I. Kaipamangalam Mandalam;Member,Edavilangu Grama Panchayat,Kodungallur Block Panchayat,Thrissur Jilla Panchayat. [3]

Thrissur,formerly Trichur,also known by its historical name Thrissivaperur,is a city and the headquarters of the Thrissur district in Kerala,India. It is the third largest urban agglomeration in Kerala after Kochi and Kozhikode,and the 21st largest in India. The city is built around a 65-acre (26 ha) hillock called the Thekkinkaadu Maidaanam which seats a large Hindu Shiva Temple. It is located central of the state,and 304 kilometres (189 mi) north-west of the state's capital city,Thiruvananthapuram. Thrissur was once the capital of the Kingdom of Cochin,and was a point of contact for the Assyrians,Greeks,Persians,Arabs,Romans,Portuguese,Dutch and English.
Kodungallur is a historically significant town situated on the banks of river Periyar on the Malabar Coast in Thrissur district of Kerala,India. It is 29 kilometres (18 mi) north of Kochi (Cochin) by National Highway 66 and 38 km (24 mi) from Thrissur. Kodungallur,being a port city at the northern end of the Kerala lagoons,was a strategic entry point for the naval fleets to the extensive Kerala backwaters.

St. Thomas' College (Autonomous),Thrissur,is a government aided college located in Thrissur,Kerala,India. It is founded by Mar Adolph Medlycott in 1889. It is the oldest college in the Erstwhile Princely State of Cochin and present day Thrissur district. It is the second private college to be recognised as a first-grade college under the University of Madras. It is the first Catholic college in Kerala and is conducted by the Syro-Malabar Catholic Archdiocese of Thrissur.
The college is affiliated with the University of Calicut. The college attained Autonomous status in 2014 and was recognised as College with Potential for Excellence by University Grants Commission in 2016. The largest menhir type megalithic monument in granite in Kerala is found here. A local catholic church has recently been adorned with mural paintings in the traditional Kerala style. He was the Minister for Revenue and Land Reforms in the Left Democratic Front government under V. S. Achuthanandan from 2006-2011. He represented the Kodungallur constituency in Thrissur district in the Kerala Legislative Assembly from 2006 to 2011.

He is a Communist Party of India (Marxist) politician from Thrissur and the member of the Kerala Legislative Assembly from Puthukkad Assembly constituency since 2011. He is a retired chemistry professor of St. Thomas College,Thrissur.
