Eregar Tukaram (born 26 July 1967) is an Indian politician from Karnataka. He is an MP of Bellary Lok Sabha constituency and a four time MLA from Sandur Assembly constituency in Ballari District. He was the Minister of Medical Education and Bellary District in-charge minister in the second H D Kumaraswamy ministry. [1] [2] [3]
Tukaram was born in Yeshwantanagar,Bellary district. He completed his M.Com. in 1992 at Nandihalli Masters Centre,Sandur which is affiliated with Gulbarga University College. Later,he also did a PG diploma in Business Administration (Finance) at St.Josephs College of Commerce,Bangalore in 1993. [4]
Tukaram won from Sandur Assembly constituency representing Indian National Congress in the 2023 Karnataka Legislative Assembly election. [5] [6] [7] He polled 85,223 votes and defeated his nearest rival,Shilpa Raghavendra of Bharatiya Janata Party by a huge margin of 35,532 votes. [8] [9] [10]
He was first elected as an MLA after winning the 2008 Karnataka Legislative Assembly election on Indian National Congress ticket from Sandur seat. He retained the seat for Congress in the 2013 Karnataka Legislative Assembly election and won for the third consecutive time winning the 2018 Karnataka Legislative Assembly election. He won for Congress again for a fourth time in the 2023 Karnataka Legislative Assembly election.
Haradanahalli Devegowda Kumaraswamy is an Indian politician and film producer who is serving as the Minister of Heavy Industries and Steel of India since 10 June 2024. He also served as the 18th Chief Minister of Karnataka from 2018 to 2019 and previously from 2006 to 2007. Byrathi Basavaraj is an Indian politician who is a 4th time MLA and ex-Minister of Urban Development of Karnataka from 4 August 2021. He started social service and entered politics and became panchayat member and president. He became corporator for Hoodi ward in 2009 and contested Krishnarajapura Vidhanasabha constituency in 2013 and became MLA for the first time from congress. Shettihalli Timmegowda Somashekhar Gowda is an Indian politician who was the Minister of State for Co-Operation of Karnataka from 6 February 2020 until 13 May 2023. He was elected to the Karnataka Legislative Assembly from Yeshvanthapura in the 2018 Karnataka Legislative Assembly election as a member of the Indian National Congress.
