Radio 92.9 EarthFest was a free music festival that features both national and local acts. The concert averages 125,000 people yearly, hosts 14 bands on 3 stages, and was the largest radio station "Earth" or "Green" related event in New England. The yearly festival stopped after 2016. There are no plans for continuation for the event. [1]

Background

The Radio 92.9 EarthFest concert was a free music festival that was hosted yearly on the Esplanade in downtown Boston, MA. The concert was created to demonstrate how everyday individuals can reduce their environmental impact. The concert was supported by a variety of sponsors such as Whole Foods Market, Subaru, MetroPCS, and Boston Globe. These sponsors, along with the 51 other sponsors, [2] set up booths and offered free items to promote their products and demonstrated to concert attendees how their products could aid both the individual, and the environment as a whole. The Radio 92.9 EarthFest concert celebrated its 23rd and final [1] event on Saturday May 21, 2016. [3] Along with the main outdoor stage on the Hatch Shell, EarthFest offered a smaller stage in an area known as Kid's Planet, which was set up for families and a younger audience. Notable performers in years past have been KT Tunstall, The Fray, Los Lonely Boys, and Shawn Mullins. Each year the concert was hosting 14 bands that range from locally to nationally known. In 2012, the Earthfest Audience was estimated to be over 200,000 people by state police.

The Cities 97.1 Sampler was a series of albums, cassette tapes and CDs containing "live in studio" recordings from Studio C located at radio station Cities 97.1, KTCZ-FM in Minneapolis at 97.1 MHz. It occasionally contained live tracks recorded from local concerts in the Twin Cities. It was released annually during the holidays from 1989 to 2018. New volumes would appear each November at local Target stores in time for Christmas gifts. In later years the sampler was also available on Target.com. Proceeds benefited Minnesota charitable organizations. The albums, cassettes and CDs usually generated over $500,000 every year for Minnesota charities. In the last several years, the recordings sold quickly, disappearing within minutes in many stores.

KFOG KaBoom was an annual outdoor concert held by KFOG in San Francisco and which occurred in May from 1994 to 2010. It was followed by a fireworks show synchronized to a soundtrack broadcast by the station. The extravagant fireworks display drew over 350,000 people. In 2007, KaBoom began charging admission due to rising costs.

The Pleasantville Music Festival is a single-day music festival held annually at Parkway Field in Pleasantville, New York. Some of the many acts that have performed at the Pleasantville Music Festival are: They Might Be Giants, The Allman Betts Band, Allison Ponthier, Sophie B.
