Earth Atlantis is a 2D side-scrolling shooter video game developed and published by Thai indie studio Pixel Perfex Studio for the Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One. Earth Atlantis was released on October 5, 2017. [1] [2]

Gameplay

In the game, the player controls a submarine as they explore the depths of a post-apocalyptic Earth. [3] After the player chooses one of many underwater vehicles, they utilize their map in order to find their next objective and fight a variety of bosses along the way. The player can hop around while defeating smaller enemies in between. [4] [5]

Reception

According to review aggregator Metacritic, Earth Atlantis received "mixed or average" reception with a score of 71 out of 100 for the Switch release. [6] Nintendo Life gave the game an 8/10 rating. [4]

Earth Atlantis won the “Excellence in Art” award – BIC Festival 2016 in Busan, South Korea and the “Vermilion Gate” award (Best in Show) during the 5th BitSummit 2017, Kyoto, Japan. [11]

Sequel

Pixel Perfex officially announced that they are currently working on a sequel and will be released sometime in the future. [12]

The Escapists is a strategy game played from a top-down perspective. The game was developed by Mouldy Toof Studios and following a Steam Early Access release in 2014, was released in 2015 for Microsoft Windows, macOS, Linux, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. It was released on iOS and Android in 2017. A Nintendo Switch version of the game containing all downloadable content was released in 2018. Borderlands: The Handsome Collection is a compilation of first-person shooter video games developed by Gearbox Software and published by 2K. The Handsome Collection consists of both Borderlands 2 (2012) and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel (2014) for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, along with all of their accompanying downloadable content, enhanced local multiplayer, and the ability to transfer save data from their respective PlayStation 3 /Vita/PSVR and Xbox 360 versions. The Mummy Demastered is a Metroidvania video game released in October 2017 by WayForward Technologies based on the 2017 film The Mummy. It takes place concurrently with the events of the film, with players playing Prodigium soldiers under the command of Dr. Henry Jekyll who must fight the evil forces of Princess Ahmanet. The game released for Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in October 2017. The Nintendo Switch version was released in Japan on July 30, 2020. A version for Amazon Luna was released on October 20, 2020.

SnowRunner is a 2020 off-road simulation video game developed by Saber Interactive and published by Focus Home Interactive. Following on from Spintires and the sequel MudRunner, the game was announced as MudRunner 2 in August 2018. Focus Home and Saber Interactive re-revealed the title a year later as SnowRunner. The game was released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on April 28, 2020, which was followed by a port for Nintendo Switch on May 18, 2021. It was released for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on May 31, 2022. SnowRunner has the player control off-road vehicles as they traverse locations to complete objectives. The game features over 60 different vehicles and more than 15 locations. Much of the content is delivered across 3 anniversary year editions as DLC.

Bayonetta is a series of action-adventure games created by Hideki Kamiya, developed by PlatinumGames, and owned by Sega. The franchise was introduced in 2009 with Bayonetta. Two sequels were released, Bayonetta 2 (2014) and Bayonetta 3 (2022), as well as a spinoff, Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon (2023). In the games, players control a witch nicknamed Bayonetta as she wields dual pistols, shooters in her high heels, and long, magically transforming hair which becomes a deadly weapon.
