The album received generally positive reviews from music critics. Already Heard rated the album 3.5 out of 5 and said: "The saving of the planet and hardcore is a combination that you would not expect, but In Hearts Wake strangely pull it off. Definitely for fans of The Amity Affliction and Parkway Drive, this band is certainly an up and coming one with their growing fan base and ever more expansive touring. I have to give them credit where it is due, for only a second major release, In Hearts Wake have delivered well." [2] Zach Redrup from Dead Press! rated the album positively but saying: "Earthwalker struggles to maintain that level of quality which devotees of modern metalcore are not only accustomed to, but consequently demand. Not a fatal misstep, yet In Heart Wakes will undoubtedly need to fine tune what is a nakedly derivative outlook if they hope to graduate to the globe spanning big leagues." [3] Alex Sievers from KillYourStereo gave the album 80 out of 100 and said: "Still keeping with their 'Parkway Drive with cleans' sound and with cleaner, more melodic guitar work, In Hearts Wake have busted out another great record. It's basically Divination under a different moniker and cover, but it is still strong in its own right. Songs like 'Truenorth' and 'Sacred' are where the band really shines, and proves exactly why these Byron lads are quickly becoming one of Australia's biggest and best bands." [4]
Sam Dignon of Rock Sins rated the album 6 out of 10 and but said: "Unfortunately the rest of the album isn't as strong as the message behind the music. There's nothing particularly bad about Earthwalker but at the same time very little really stands out either. The album is full of everything you'd expect to hear on a metalcore album in 2014: chugging riffs, screamed vocals during the verses while soaring melodies take over on the chorus and lots of breakdowns. If there was a checklist for what to include when writing a metalcore album then In Hearts Wake would have ticked every box. This safe approach to song writing means things get boring pretty quickly on Earthwalker." [5] Rock Sound gave it 7 out of 10 and said: "Joining the ever-growing list of Aussie acts making a big racket internationally in the last few years, In Hearts Wake play a similar blend of super-heavy yet melodic breakdowncore to their peers in Northlane and The Amity Affliction. Hailing straight from the same tiny beachside town as Parkway Drive, this lot mix up brutal djenting with big choruses designed for singalongs. Lyrically, the good cop / bad cop vocalists detail the importance of being environmentally-minded and the evils of industrialisation; a welcome diversion from songs about depression, girls and brotherhood. It's one dimensional, but that dimension is pretty damn good." [6]

Confession are an Australian metalcore band from Melbourne. The band was formed in 2008 by frontman Michael Crafter, who is best known as the former lead vocalist of metalcore bands I Killed the Prom Queen, Carpathian and Bury Your Dead. They have released one EP titled Can't Live, Can't Breathe and three albums: Cancer, The Long Way Home and Life and Death.
The Amity Affliction is an Australian metalcore band from Gympie, Queensland formed in 2003.
Youngbloods is the second studio album by Australian metalcore band the Amity Affliction. It was released on 18 June 2010 through Boomtown Records. It debuted at number 6 on the ARIA Charts. Grammy-nominated producer Machine produced Youngbloods. The drums were recorded at Breakwater Music Studio in Hazlet, NJ. All other tracks were recorded at the Machine Shop in Weehawken, NJ. This is the first and the only record to feature guitarist Clint Owen Ellis (Splattering), where Troy Brady temporarily switched to rhythm guitar for Ellis to take the lead. It's also the last record that features keyboardist Trad Nathan.

It was produced by Josh Schroeder, Dan Brown and Troy Brady. It is the continuation of their second studio album Earthwalker. The album peaked at No. 2 at official ARIA Charts. It's the last album to feature Caleb Burton as a writer, with his departure following the release of Skydancer. Nic Pettersen of Northlane played drums on the album, with Caleb being unable to secure a US Visa in time to record the album; producer Josh Schroeder revealed on Reddit that he was originally going to track drums for both Earthwalker and Skydancer, going as far as writing the drum tracks for both records and practicing as a touring member for the upcoming shows close to his studio.

Misery is the sixth studio album by Australian metalcore band the Amity Affliction. The album was released on 24 August 2018. It is the first album without drummer Ryan Burt, following his departure in February 2018. It is the first album to feature Joe Longobardi on drums. However, during recording and the release of this album, he was only a session drummer. He was not made official until the end of 2018. It is also the first album to feature Joel Birch performing clean vocals on some tracks on the album along with the album being a departure from the band's usual straight metalcore sound and instead included some electronic elements on top of the metalcore sound. It is the band's final album for Roadrunner and UNFD.

It was released on 21 February 2020 through Pure Noise Records and was produced by Matt Squire. It is the band's first album release with the label. It is also the first album to feature new drummer Joe Longobardi as official band member, who replaced Ryan Burt due to his mental health reasons on 5 February 2018. Additionally, Longobardi also performed as a session drummer on the band's sixth studio album Misery.
Not Without My Ghosts is the eighth studio album by Australian metalcore band the Amity Affliction. The album was released on 12 May 2023 through Pure Noise Records and was self-produced by the band.
