East Hess Township is a township in Gray County, Kansas, USA. As of the 2000 census, its population was 372.

East Hess Township covers an area of 108.42 square miles (280.8 km2) and contains one incorporated settlement, Ensign. According to the USGS, it contains three cemeteries: Cave, Ensign and Johnson.
