Wayne County is a county located in the U.S. state of North Carolina. As of the 2010 Census, the population was 122,623. Its county seat is Goldsboro and it is home to Seymour Johnson Air Force Base.
Goldsboro, originally Goldsborough, is a city and the county seat of Wayne County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 36,437 at the 2010 Census. It is the principal city of and is included in the Goldsboro, North Carolina Metropolitan Statistical Area. The nearby town of Waynesboro was founded in 1787, and Goldsboro was incorporated in 1847. It is the county seat of Wayne County. The city is situated in North Carolina's Coastal Plain and is bordered on the south by the Neuse River and the west by the Little River, approximately 40 miles (64 km) southwest of Greenville, 50 miles (80 km) southeast of Raleigh, the state capital, and 75 miles (121 km) north of Wilmington in Southeastern North Carolina. Seymour Johnson Air Force Base is located in Goldsboro.
Jesse O. Sanderson High School, more commonly called Sanderson High School (SHS), is a co-educational 9–12 public high school located in Raleigh, North Carolina, United States in the Wake County Public School System. The school was founded in 1968. It is named after a former superintendent of Raleigh public schools, Jesse O. Sanderson. Sanderson runs on a 2x4 block schedule; it was one of the first schools in the area to do so. It is known for its performing arts, athletic, and community outreach programs.
Jerry Austin Narron is an American professional baseball manager, coach, and former player. He currently serves as a major league instructor for the Chicago White Sox. He most recently served as the bench coach for the Boston Red Sox of Major League Baseball (MLB) during the 2020 season. Narron played in MLB, primarily as a catcher, for three teams during 1979–1987. He has served as manager for the Texas Rangers (2001–2002) and the Cincinnati Reds (2005–2007). He was the third base coach for Israel at the 2017 World Baseball Classic.

Interstate 795 (I-795) is an auxiliary Interstate Highway spur in the U.S. state of North Carolina. It runs 24 miles (39 km), connecting the city of Goldsboro to I-95 just south of Wilson, paralleling the northern portion of U.S. Route 117 (US 117). The road runs a short 5-mile (8.0 km) concurrency with US 264 in the last section of the route. It serves as a primary freeway spur for the city of Goldsboro to the Interstate Highway system, as well part of a major cargo route for the cities of Down East North Carolina, which was a part of the impetus for its designation in 2007.

John A. Narron, Jr. is an American professional baseball coach. He is the hitting coach for the Lynchburg Hillcats, the High-A affiliate of the Cleveland Indians. He is a former hitting coach of the Milwaukee Brewers and former assistant hitting coach of the Texas Rangers of Major League Baseball (MLB). He was a confidant and friend of center fielder Josh Hamilton and temporarily acted as an "accountability partner" to help Hamilton in his recovery from drug addiction.

Weddington High School (WHS) is a public high school located east of Weddington, North Carolina as part of Union County Public Schools. As of August 2020, the school has been operating under the leadership of principal Jeff Kraftson. Weddington's main feeder schools, Weddington Elementary and Weddington Middle, are located on the same campus as the high school. Other feeder schools include Antioch Elementary, in Matthews/Indian Trail, and Wesley Chapel Elementary, in Monroe. WHS mainly serves Weddington, Matthews, and Wesley Chapel. It also has some students from western Monroe.
