The University of Regina is a public research university located in Regina,Saskatchewan,Canada. Founded in 1911 as a private denominational high school of the Methodist Church of Canada,it began an association with the University of Saskatchewan as a junior college in 1925,and was disaffiliated by the Church and fully ceded to the University in 1934;in 1961 it attained degree-granting status as the Regina Campus of the University of Saskatchewan. It became an autonomous university in 1974. The University of Regina has an enrolment of over 15,000 full and part-time students. The university's student newspaper,The Carillon,is a member of CUP.

Lori Campbell is a Two-Spirit Cree-Métis educator and advocate from Treaty 6 territory in Northern Saskatchewan and a member of Montreal Lake First Nation. She was appointed the inaugural Associate Vice-President Indigenous Engagement in 2021 at the University of Regina. From 2017 - 2021 she was the Director of Shatitsirótha’Waterloo Indigenous Student Centre at the University of Waterloo and an adjunct lecturer in Indigenous Studies at St. Paul's University College. Campbell holds undergraduate degrees in Indigenous Studies and Psychology and a Master's degree in Adult Education from First Nations University of Canada and the University of Regina. Her MA thesis,completed in 2016,was titled Nikawiy:A Cree Woman's Experience. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Social Justice Education at the University of Toronto's Ontario Institute for Studies in Education.

The Federation of Sovereign Indigenous Nations (FSIN),formerly known as the Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations,is a Saskatchewan-based First Nations organization. One hundred years later,the proportions had changed significantly:urban population in 2001 was 629,036 (64%) while the rural population was 349,897 (36%). Over time the province's higher education system has changed significantly in response both to this demographic shift and to provincial politics.
Perry Bellegarde is a Canadian First Nations advocate and politician who served as National Chief of the Assembly of First Nations from December 10,2014,to July 8,2021. He had previously served as chief of the Little Black Bear First Nation,chief of the Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations,and as the Saskatchewan regional chief of the Assembly of First Nations.

James (Sakej) Youngblood Henderson is an international human rights lawyer,advocate,and educator. He was born in Oklahoma to the Bear Clan of the Chickasaw Nation and also has heritage from the Cheyenne Nation. Currently,he works in Canada as the Research Director of the Native Law Centre and as a professor of Aboriginal law at the University of Saskatchewan College of Law.
Marie Ann Battiste is an author and educator working as a professor in Canada at the University of Saskatchewan in the Department of Educational Foundations. From the Potlotek First Nation in Nova Scotia,Battiste is the daughter of Mi'kmaq parents John and Annie Battiste and is one of four children. Battiste was raised in Houlton,Maine,where she attended high school graduating in 1967. From there she went on to the University of Maine graduating from the Farmington campus in 1971 with her teaching certificate and a bachelor of science in both elementary and junior high education. She went on to attend Harvard University graduating in 1974 with a master of education in administration and social policy as well as Stanford University,where in 1984 she graduated with a doctor of education in curriculum and teacher education.
Ruth Cuthand is a Canadian artist of Plains Cree and Scottish ancestry. She is widely considered an influential feminist artist of the Canadian prairies,and is lauded for her unflinching interpretation of racism and colonialism. Her work challenges mainstream perspectives on colonialism and the relationships between settlers and Indigenous people in a practice marked by political invective,humour,and a deliberate crudeness of style.
Peepeekisis Cree Nation is a Cree First Nation in southern Saskatchewan,Canada. Its reserves include Peepeekisis 81;Treaty Four Reserve Grounds 77,which is shared with 32 other bands;and Peepeekisis First Nation,which is located 19 km (12 mi) east of Balcarres,Saskatchewan,on Highway 10.
Jenny L. Davis is an American linguist and anthropologist. She is an Associate Professor of Anthropology,American Indian Studies,and Gender &Women's Studies at the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign where she is the director of the American Indian Studies Program. Her research is on contemporary Indigenous languages and identity,focusing on Indigenous language revitalization and Indigenous gender and sexuality,especially within the Two-Spirit movement.
