Edgardo Mortiz (born August 30, 1954) is a Filipino actor, comedian, singer and director who is currently affiliated with ABS-CBN, GMA Network and Brightlight Productions. He previously directed numerous shows under ABS-CBN, until its shutdown where he left the network after 34 years, [1] until 2024 when he returned to ABS-CBN and directed Goin' Bulilit co-produced with AMBS' All TV. [2]

Early and personal life

Mortiz married Millet Santos on April 3 1977. They had 4 children - Ma. Frances Camille Mortiz, Ma. Carmela Catalin Mortiz, Frasco Mortiz and Badjie Mortiz. Santos was born in 1960, to Dr. Winifredo Santos and Nora Navarro-Santos, with children Charo Santos-Concio, Suzanne Santos, Malou N. Santos, Joey Santos and Mae Santos. [3]

In March 2024, Mortiz released his new all-standards eight-track album - phonograph record "Goin' Standard". [4]

Originally hosted by Martin Nievera, Pops Fernandez, Ariel Rivera and Dayanara Torres, it premiered on February 5, 1995 on the network's Sunday noontime line-up replacing Sa Linggo nAPO Sila. Hagibis is a Filipino disco group best known for their macho image, on-stage costumes, and macho songs about women. Originally formed by Juan dela Cruz Band singer and bassist Mike Hanopol and Vic del Rosario, they are cited as the "First Boyband in the Philippines" and later were coined the title "Village People of the Philippines", a title they still hold to this day. <i>Sunday Kada</i> Filipino TV series or program

Sunday 'Kada is a Philippine sketch comedy variety show broadcast on TV5. The show premiered on October 18, 2020 in the 3 p.m. timeslot following its companion program I Got You as part of the network's Sunday afternoon programming block. Sunday 'Kada serves as a successor to the defunct ABS-CBN gag show Banana Sundae, featuring much of its former cast, including Jayson Gainza, Ritz Azul, Wacky Kiray, and many others. On June 13, 2021, the pilot episode of the show became available on Brightlight Productions' programming affiliate ABS-CBN's iWantTFC and worldwide via The Filipino Channel.
