Edward Brezinski (1954-2007) was an American artist who, in the 1980s, became a painter in the East Village arts scene. He was the subject of the documentary Make Me Famous . [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7] [8]

Ed grew up at 19967 burgess in Detroit. I knew him in the late 60’s but not friends. Memory of him growing weed on south side of his house as a teenager.

Early life

Brezinski was raised in Michigan, possibly in Chesterfield Township. He was born with the last name Brzezinski, and was the only child of his parents. His mother died when he was a teenager, and his father worked for General Motors. [5]

After leaving Michigan, Brezinski first moved to San Francisco, where he attended the San Francisco Institute of Art. [3] [5]

He eventually ended up in Manhattan's Lower East Side. [5]

Later life

Brezinski lived in Berlin in the 1990s. [3]

Brezinski died in Cannes, France in 2007. [3]

Armin Hansen (1886–1957), a native of San Francisco, was a prominent American painter of the en plein air school, best known for his marine canvases. His father Herman Wendelborg Hansen was also a famous artist of the American West. The younger Hansen studied at the California School of Design in the Mark Hopkins Institute of Art and in Europe. He achieved international recognition for his scenes depicting men and the sea off the northern coast of California. He was elected an Associate to the National Academy of Design in 1926 and an Academician in 1948.
