Professor Eliezer Mbuki Feleshi is the current Attorney General of Tanzania and is the 10th Attorney General of Tanzania since the country's independence in 1961. [1] [2] He was appointed as the new Attorney General following the Suluhu Cabinet reshuffle in September 2021. Before being the Attorney General,Dr Feleshi was the principal judge of the High Court of Tanzania since 2018. [3] [4]

The Judiciary of Tanzania is the system of courts that interprets and applies the law in Tanzania. The current judiciary bases its foundation to the constitution of the United Republic of Tanzania of 1977. Under the Constitution of Tanzania,Justices and Magistrates are independent of the government and subject only to the Constitution and the law. The country has a dual juristition system where there is a judicial structure responsible for Tanzania Mainland and another for Zanzibar. The Court of Appeal of the United Republic was established in 1979 as the final appellate judicial body with jurisdiction over the entire union.

The National Audit Office (NAO) of Tanzania is an independent Parliamentary body in Tanzania which is responsible for auditing central government departments,government agencies and non-departmental public bodies. The NAO also carries out value for money (VFM) audits into the administration of public policy. The office is headed by the Chief Auditor General appointed by the President of Tanzania.
