Elizabeth Lowrey is an American interior designer, and principal and director of interior architecture at Elkus Manfredi Architects. [1] [2] [3]

Career

Lowrey gained a Bachelor of Interior Architecture degree in 1983 from Auburn University. [2] She was hired by Elkus Manfredi in 1988 as the firm's first employee, and became a principal in 2002. [4]

Recent projects she has led have included an office for Third Rock Ventures [5] a headquarters for Draper Laboratory, the New Brunswick Performing Arts Center, "boutique hotels" called The White Elephant in Nantucket and Palm Beach [6] The MassMutual Boston headquarters [7] And the Georgetown University Student Residences. [8]

Recognition

Lowrey has been named as "One of the Most Influential Bostonians" by Boston Magazine 2019–2024, [9] and one of 10 Outstanding Women Leaders by Boston Real Estate Times [10] She was a winner of the Suzanne King Public Service Award by Crew Boston 2022. [11]

In 2018 she and David Manfredi were jointly awarded the Robert S. Swain Jr. Distinguished Service Award of the Real Estate Finance Association (REFA). [12]

In 2019 she received an Honorary Doctorate in Fine Arts from the Massachusetts College of Art (MassArt). [13] [14]

Margo Grant Walsh is an American interior designer also known as a collector of silver serving pieces. As a designer of workplaces, first for Skidmore, Owings & Merrill and later for Gensler, her clients included companies such as Goldman Sachs, Pennzoil, and Shearman & Sterling. Grant was inducted into the Interior Design magazine Hall of Fame in 1987, and has been described by the IIDA as "one of the most powerful and influential women in American architecture and interior design", and a pioneer for both women in the field and the profession itself.

FXCollaborative is an American architecture, planning, and interior design firm founded in 1978 by Bob Fox and Bruce Fowle as Fox & Fowle Architects. The firm merged with Jambhekar Strauss in 2000 and was renamed to FXFOWLE Architects in 2005 following Fox's departure. The firm was renamed to FXCollaborative on January 18, 2018. The firm is best known for projects in New York City including the Condé Nast Building, Reuters Building, Eleven Times Square, renovation of the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, and the Statue of Liberty Museum.

The Auerbach Center is the practice facility for the National Basketball Association (NBA)'s Boston Celtics, located in Boston, Massachusetts. Designed by Elkus Manfredi Architects, in collaboration with Lucinda Loya Interiors, the 160,000-square-foot building is part of a larger mixed-use development being constructed by New Balance at Boston Landing that includes the headquarters of New Balance and that will also include shops, a hotel and the practice facility of the Boston Bruins directly next door.

Carol Roxane Johnson was a landscape architect and educator notable for being one of the first women in her field. She founded Carol R. Johnson Associates, a landscape architecture firm in Boston, and designed large-scale projects throughout the United States. She was also a professor at Harvard's Graduate School of Design. Johnson retired in 2016. She died on December 11, 2020, in Boothbay Harbor, Maine at the age of 91.

Diane Hoskins is an American businessperson and architect who currently serves as global co-chair of Gensler, the world's largest architecture and design firm by revenue. She served as co-CEO of the global company with Andy Cohen from 2005 through the end of 2023. She is also on the board of directors for Boston Properties. Hoskins has been covered by The Washington Post Magazine, Fortune, Business Insider and other news sources as one of the most influential and powerful women in business.

Kimberly Nicole Dowdell,, is an American architect, real estate developer, and educator. She is originally from Detroit, Michigan, and is a Chicago-based. Dowdell is currently a principal at HOK's Chicago office, and she served as the 2019-2020 national president of the National Organization of Minority Architects (NOMA). On June 15, 2022, Dowdell was elected as first vice-president and president-elect of the American Institute of Architects. She will be the 100th president of the American Institute of Architects and the first Black woman to serve in the role.

The TRACK at New Balance is a 455,000 square foot facility housing a track and field stadium located near Boston Landing station in Boston, Massachusetts.
