The Embassy of Algeria in Kyiv is the diplomatic mission of Algeria in Ukraine, [2] and its accreditation in Moldova. [3]
The People's Democratic Republic of Algeria recognized independence of Ukraine on December 27, 1991. On August 29, 1992, diplomatic relations between the two countries were established. In November 1992, the first Ambassador of Algeria Belramul Kamerzerman presented his credentials to the President of Ukraine Leonid Kravchuk. Algeria has an embassy in Kyiv and Ukraine has an embassy in Algiers (opened in 1999). [4]
The embassy was temporarily closed on 6 March 2022 as a result of the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine. [5]
Ukraine has formal relations with many nations and in recent decades has been establishing diplomatic relations with an expanding circle of nations. The foreign relations of Ukraine are guided by a number of key priorities outlined in the foreign policy of Ukraine.
Moldova–Ukraine relations are the bilateral/diplomatic/foreign relations between the sovereign states of Moldova and Ukraine. The Moldova–Ukraine border is 985 kilometers. Ukrainians are the third largest ethnic group in Moldova, behind Moldovans and Romanians. Both countries were former republics of the Soviet Union and are also the poorest countries in Europe. Both countries have applied for membership to join the European Union in 2022.
After the dissolution of the Soviet Union, Azerbaijan and Ukraine gained their independence from the Soviet Union and started a close friendship with establishing diplomatic relations in 1992. The relations of strategic cooperation, political, economical and cultural relations between two countries are at a very high level. Azerbaijan currently plays an important role in both organization and the foreign policy of Ukraine due to its strategic role in the region.
Algeria recognized Ukraine's independence in 1992. Diplomatic relations were established in 1993.
