Emmanuel Dyen (born 29 June 1979) is a French sailor. [1] He competed at the 2008 and 2012 Summer Olympics in the 49er class.[ citation needed ]

At the 2012 Olympics, Dyen and teammate Stéphane Christidis, finished in 6th place in the men's 49er class. [2] [3]

Sailing/Yachting is an Olympic sport starting from the Games of the 1st Olympiad. With the exception of 1904 and possibly the cancelled 1916 Summer Olympics, sailing has always been included on the Olympic schedule. Sailing at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London was held 29 July – 11 August 2012 at Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy in Weymouth. The 2012 sailing program consisted of a total of ten events. Eleven fleet races were scheduled off the coast at Weymouth Bay for each event, except for the 49er and the Elliott 6m classes. For the 49er class, a total of 16 races were scheduled. Of the 11 (16) races, 10 (15) were scheduled as opening races and the last one as medal race. For the Elliott 6m a series of match races was scheduled. The sailing was done on different types of courses.

Peter Burling is a New Zealand sailor. He is the skipper and helmsman for Emirates Team New Zealand for the 2024 America's Cup defense. He was the 2021 America's Cup winning skipper and helmsman, and the 2017 America's Cup winning helmsman of Team New Zealand. Burling won an Olympic gold medal in the 49er class at the 2016 games and silver medals in the 2012 and 2020 Olympics.

They competed at together again at the 2008 Summer Olympics, finishing in 8th place. At the 2012 Summer Olympics in the 49er class, the pairing finished in 4th place.

Stéphane Christidis is a French sailor. In 2004, he competed in the men's 49er at the Olympic Games with teammate Marc Audineau, finishing in 11th place. Christidis then competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics in the 49er class with teammate Emmanuel Dyen, finishing in 6th place.

He represented Portugal, along with his partner Francisco Andrade, at the 2008, 2016 and 2020 Summer Olympics. He has trained for Cascais Naval Club throughout most of his sporting career under his personal coach Pedro Pinto. As of September 2014, Lima is ranked twenty-fourth in the world for the men's skiff class by the International Sailing Federation, following his successes at the European Championships, and 2014 ISAF Sailing World Championships in Santander, Spain.

Marc Audineau is a French yacht racer who competed in the 2004 Summer Olympics. He competed in the men's 49er with teammate Stéphane Christidis, finishing in 11th place.

Afonso Manuel Costa Gaspar da Silva Domingos is a Portuguese sailor, who specialized in mixed multihull and two-person keelboat (Star) classes. He represented his nation Portugal in three editions of the Olympic Games, and has been training throughout his sailing career for Cascais Naval Club in his current residence Cascais, under his personal coach Andy Zawija.

France competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. Originally scheduled to take place from 24 July to 9 August 2020, the Games were postponed to 23 July to 8 August 2021, because of the COVID-19 pandemic. French athletes have appeared in every Summer Olympic Games of the modern era, alongside Australia, Great Britain, Greece, and Switzerland. As Paris will host the 2024 Summer Olympics, France was the penultimate nation to enter the stadium, alongside the United States which will host the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, before the host country Japan during the parade of nations at the opening ceremony. Additionally, a French segment was performed in Paris and some pre-recorded events at the closing ceremony as performers did not travel to Tokyo due to the travel restrictions related to the pandemic. However, Paris mayor Anne Hidalgo was the only delegation present at the ceremony.
