Emmanuel Victor Osodeke is a Nigerian Professor of Soil Science at Michael Okpara University of Agriculture,Umudike, [1] who is also the national president of Academic Staff Union of Universities. [2] [3] He served as vice president of the union in the previous term. [2]
Osodeke was born in Kokori,Ethiope east local government of Delta State. He got his BSc from Rivers State University of Science and Technology in 1987,and a Master of Science from the University of Ibadan in 1989. He got his Postgraduate Diploma in Agro-meteorology from the Israeli Institute of Meteorology in 1994,and in 2002,he got his PhD from Michael Okpara University of Agriculture in Umudike. [4]
Osodeke was a lecturer at Delta State University,Abraka,he was also the chairman of Academic Staff Union of Universities in Michael Okpara University of Agriculture,Umudike. He is a visiting professor at the University of Calabar and University of Cape Cost,Ghana. [4] On 30 May 2021 he was elected national president of the Academic Staff Union of Universities. [5] [6]
Osodeke is married to Onome Osodeke and they have four children. [4]

Prince Abubakar Audu University,(Formerly Kogi State University) located at Anyigba,is a state-owned university of Kogi,Nigeria. The Michael Okpara University of Agriculture,originally the Federal University of Agriculture,is a federal university in Umudike,Abia State,Nigeria was established as a specialized University by a Federal Government of Nigeria Decree No 48 of November 1992. It began formal activities in May 1993 with the appointment of the first Council and Vice-Chancellor Professor Placid C. Njoku on 27 May 1993,while other key officials of the University were appointed later.

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) is a Nigerian union of university academic staff,founded in 1978. ASUU is an offshoot of the Nigerian Association of University Teachers (NAUT) which was established in 1965. At that time,NAUT consisted of only five universities in total including University of Ibadan,University of Nigeria,Nsukka,Ahmadu Bello University,Zaria,University of Ife and University of Lagos. Professor Victor Emmanuel Osodeke emerged as the body's president on 30 May 2021.

Glory Emmanuel Edet is a Nigerian princess and women &child-rights activist. She is a two-time Commissioner for Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Welfare in Akwa Ibom state. She was first appointed in 2013,and re-appointed for the same position in 2015 by Udom Gabriel Emmanuel. In 2015,she started an empowerment scheme for widows which selected participants equally from all 31 local government areas of the State. The scheme provided the widows with stat-up funds to float their businesses.
