Abia State is a state in the South-East geopolitical zone of Nigeria,it is bordered to the northwest by Anambra State and northeast by the states of Enugu,and Ebonyi,Imo State to the west,Cross River State to the east,Akwa Ibom State to the southeast,and Rivers State to the south. Abia is the only Southeastern state that has boundaries with the other four Southeastern states in Nigeria. It takes its name from the acronym for four of the state's most populated regions:Aba,Bende,Isuikwuato,and Afikpo. The state capital is Umuahia while the largest city and commercial centre is Aba.
Michael Iheonukara Okpara was a Nigerian politician and Premier of Eastern Nigeria during the First Republic,from 1959 to 1966. At 39,he was the nation's youngest Premier. He was a strong advocate of what he called "pragmatic socialism" and believed that agricultural reform was crucial to the ultimate success of Nigeria.

Nnamdi Azikiwe University,Awka,also called UNIZIK or NAU in short is a federal university in Nigeria. It consists of two campuses in Anambra State. Its main campus is in Awka,while its other campus is in Nnewi. There are also other campuses of Nnamdi Azikiwe University,Awka. These include Agulu in Aniocha local government area and Ifite-Ogwuari in Ayamelum local government area in Anambra State. This makes Nnamdi Azikiwe University to operate in the three Senatorial Districts in Anambra State,Nigeria having Awka campus,in Anambra Central Senatorial District,Nnewi in Anambra North Senatorial District and Ifite-Ogwuari in Anambra North Senatorial District,respectively.
Prince Abubakar Audu University,(Formerly Kogi State University) located at Anyigba,is a state-owned university of Kogi,Nigeria. It was established in 1999 by Prince Abubakar Audu,the former governor of the state. At the time of its establishment,it was known as Kogi State University,It was later renamed Prince Abubakar Audu University (PAAU) in 2020,after the then sitting governor of Kogi State,who heralded its establishment,and later renamed Kogi State University (KSU) in 2003 by the former governor Ibrahim Idris and subsequently renamed as Prince Abubakar Audu University in 2020 by Governor Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello in respect of late Abubakar Audu.
The Michael Okpara University of Agriculture,originally the Federal University of Agriculture,is a federal university in Umudike,Abia State,Nigeria was established as a specialized University by a Federal Government of Nigeria Decree No 48 of November 1992. It began formal activities in May 1993 with the appointment of the first Council and Vice-Chancellor Professor Placid C. Njoku on 27 May 1993,while other key officials of the University were appointed later.

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) is a Nigerian union of university academic staff,founded in 1978. ASUU is an offshoot of the Nigerian Association of University Teachers (NAUT) which was established in 1965. At that time,NAUT consisted of only five universities in total including University of Ibadan,University of Nigeria,Nsukka,Ahmadu Bello University,Zaria,University of Ife and University of Lagos. Professor Victor Emmanuel Osodeke emerged as the body's president on 30 May 2021.
Umudike is a semi-urban settlement in Oboro,Ikwuano Local Government Area in Abia State,Nigeria. It is about 11 kilometers southeast of Umuahia,the state's capital city. Glory Emmanuel Edet is a Nigerian princess and women &child-rights activist. She is a two-time Commissioner for Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Welfare in Akwa Ibom state. She was first appointed in 2013,and re-appointed for the same position in 2015 by Udom Gabriel Emmanuel. In 2015,she started an empowerment scheme for widows which selected participants equally from all 31 local government areas of the State. The scheme provided the widows with stat-up funds to float their businesses. In support of vulnerable children in Akwa-Ibom state,Glory Emmanuel Edet has worked with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and Association for Reproductive and Family Health (ARFH).

Ogbonnaya Chikwe Onwudike is a Nigerian academic and administrator the current vice-chancellor of Rhema University having served as the second vice-chancellor of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture from 2001 to 2006.
