Engel is a Swedish melodic death metal band from Gothenburg. They are currently signed to Gain Records/Sony.
Engel released their debut album Absolute Design through SPV/Steamhammer on 31 October 2007. The album was released in North America on 20 May 2008. [2]
Their second album, Threnody , was finished by the end of 2008, but due to issues with their former label, SPV, the release was delayed. On 7 April 2010, Threnody was released in Japan through Trooper Entertainment. The album was released on the music streaming service Spotify on 8 November 2010 and in Europe on the same date through Season of Mist. Threnody was released in North America on 11 January 2011, also through Season of Mist.
The band's third album, Blood of Saints , was released in Japan on 15 April 2012 through Trooper Entertainment. It was later released in Europe on 18 May 2012 and in the United States through Frostbyte on 25 September 2012. [3]
On 18 April 2006, Robert Hakemo was replaced by Johan Andreassen. [4] On 5 August 2006, Michael Håkansson became the new bass player. [5] On 14 August 2008, Håkansson left the band to pursue other opportunities. Steve Drennan (Amon Amarth) took over playing bass during November 2008. During 2010, the band replaced their drummer Daniel "Mojjo" Moilanen with Jimmy Olausson, who also plays drums for Marionette. In June 2014, Olausson quit the band and was replaced with Oscar Nilsson. [6]
In mid-2012, Engel performed at several festivals in Europe and led their first headlining tour, also in Europe. In late 2012, Engel toured Sweden and Finland.[ citation needed ]
Engel recorded its fourth album in Creahate Studios in mid-2014, [7] which was released on 26 November 2014 [8] through Gain Music/Sony in Europe and on 27 January 2015 in the US and Canada. A video for the opening track "Salvation" was also released at the same time. [9]
The band has shared the stage with Still Remains [10] and toured Europe with Amon Amarth and Dimmu Borgir. [11] They were also part of Paradise Lost's "Faith Divides Us – Death Unites Us" tour along with Katatonia [12] and Samael.

Dimmu Borgir is a Norwegian symphonic black metal band from Jessheim, formed in 1993. The name is derived from Dimmuborgir, a volcanic formation in Iceland, the name of which means "dark cities" or "dark castles/fortresses" in Icelandic, Faroese and Old Norse. The band has been through numerous lineup changes over the years; vocalist Shagrath and rhythm guitarist Silenoz are the only original members who still remain, with lead guitarist Galder being a longstanding member.

Their lyrics mostly deal with Viking mythology and history, and so they have been sometimes erroneously labeled "Viking metal", although the band insists they play melodic death metal.
Susperia is a Norwegian melodic thrash metal band formed in October 1998 by Tjodalv and Cyrus. The band was originally named Seven Sins, but since there was another band with that name they changed it to the title of the horror film Suspiria, changing the spelling to avoid a clash with Suspiria, a gothic rock band that also took its name from the film.

In Sorte Diaboli is the seventh studio album by Norwegian symphonic black metal band Dimmu Borgir, released in 2007. It is the band's first concept album. A site on the Nuclear Blast website was created for In Sorte Diaboli, in which a new promotional photo can be seen and an audio sample can be heard. This would be the last album by Dimmu Borgir to feature ICS Vortex, Hellhammer and Mustis.

Abrahadabra is the eighth studio album by Norwegian symphonic black metal band Dimmu Borgir, released in 2010. The first single from the album, "Gateways", was released on 20 August in Europe and 24 August in North America. On 14 September a video for "Gateways" was released featuring Djerv front-woman, Agnete Kjølsrud. On 17 September the song "Born Treacherous" was released on Dimmu Borgir's official Myspace for streaming. On 24 September the band announced they would stream Abrahadabra in its entirety, until 7 p.m. EST that evening. This would mark the first official release of all the tracks on the album. The album features drummer Daray and additional keyboards by Gerlioz.
Nevermore was an American heavy metal band from Seattle, Washington, formed in 1991. The band has been inactive since 2011, due to personal issues between the band members. Vocalist Warrel Dane died in December 2017, ending hopes of a reunion.
