Individual jumping equestrian at the 2018 Asian Games was held in Jakarta International Equestrian Park, Jakarta, from 27 to 30 August 2018. [1] This event had been held since equestrian made its debut at the Asian Games in 1982 New Delhi. Japan won a record three gold medals in this event ahead of Saudi Arabia with two gold medals, Kuwait, Philippines, and Qatar with one gold respectively. [2] [3]

Hong Kong competed at the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta and Palembang, Indonesia, from 18 August to 2 September 2018. Hong Kong made its debut at the Asian Games in 1954 Manila, and the best achievement for the territory was in 2010 Asian Games held in neighboring Guangzhou, finishing with 8 gold, 15 silver and 17 bronze medals totaling 40 medals. At the previous edition in held 4 years later in Incheon, the total number of medals increased to 42, but the number of gold medals fell to 6. In Indonesia the performance of local athletes was satisfactory, improving the results obtained in 2010 and 2014 with 46 medals achieving the best results at the games.

Qatar competed at the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta and Palembang, Indonesia, from 18 August to 2 September 2018. Qatar represented by 20 national sport federations, with a plan of over 250 competitors who will be participating across 30 disciplines and also at the 2018 Asian Para Games.

Iran competed in the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta and Palembang, Indonesia from 18 August to 2 September 2018. Iran has competed at the Asian Games since the first event in 1951 Delhi, and the best achievement was in 1974, when the country hosted the event in Tehran, by ranked second with the acquisition of 36 gold, 28 silver and 17 bronze medals. At the latest edition in Incheon, the country wrapped up its campaign with 57 medals in all - 21 gold, 18 silver and 18 bronze.

The United Arab Emirates competed at the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta and Palembang, Indonesia, from 18 August to 2 September 2018. The United Arab Emirates National Olympic Committee announced a delegation of 217 members for the Games, with 138 athletes represented the country across 23 sports.

At the last edition of 2014 Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea, the country won five gold, 6 silver, and 13 bronze medals.

The men's individual foil competition at the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta was held on 21 August at the Jakarta Convention Center. This event made its debut at the Asian Games since the seventh edition in 1974 Tehran. China led the medal tally by collecting five gold medals, while Japan and South Korea stand in the second and third position with 3 and 2 gold medals respectively. Huang Mengkai of China managed to claim the gold medal after won the final match against Nicholas Choi of Hong Kong with the score 11–10. Choi settled for the silver medal, and the bronze medal goes to Son Young-ki of South Korea and Cheung Ka Long of Hong Kong.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Fouaad Mirza</span> Indian equestrian

Fouaad Mirza is an Indian equestrian who won silver medals in both individual eventing and team eventing at the 2018 Asian Games. He became the first Indian since 1982 to win a medal at an individual equestrian event at the Asian Games. Mirza qualified for the 2020 Summer Olympics, becoming the first Indian equestrian since Imtiaz Anees (2000) to participate at the Games.

The men's team foil competition at the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta was held on 24 August at the Jakarta Convention Center. China leads with five gold medals in this event, while South Korea and Japan were in the second and third position with 3 and 2 gold medals respectively. The other countries that ever won medals in this event were Hong Kong with 4 bronzes and Iran with a bronze.

The team eventing in equestrian at the 2018 Asian Games was held at the Jakarta International Equestrian Park from 24 to 26 August 2018.

The men's team sabre competition at the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta was held on 23 August at the Jakarta Convention Center. South Korea team defend the men's team sabre title and captured the gold medal after beat Iranian team 45–32 in the final. The Iranian team is entitled to a silver medal, while the bronze medal won by Chinese and Hong Kong team.

The women's team foil competition at the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta was held on 23 August at the Jakarta Convention Center. South Korean team was the defending champion in this event after won the last five gold medals from 1998 to 2014. Japan clinched their first gold medal in this event at the Asian Games after defeated the Chinese team with the score 35–34 in the final. China captured the silver medal, while Singapore and South Korean team won the bronze medal.

Team jumping equestrian at the 2018 Asian Games was held in Jakarta International Equestrian Park, Jakarta, Indonesia on 27 and 28 August 2018. This was the eighth appearance of this event since its debut at the Asian Games in 1986 in Seoul. Japan has won a record of 4 gold medals, followed by Saudi Arabia with 2 gold medals, and Qatar with one gold medal.

Hikaru Mori is a Japanese individual and synchronised trampoline gymnast.
