Uzbekistan participated in the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta and Palembang, Indonesia from 18 August to 2 September 2018. Uzbekistan made its debut at the Asian Games in 1994 Hiroshima, and the best achievement was in 2002 Busan, with the acquisition of 15 gold, 12 silver and 24 bronze medals. [2] At the last edition in Incheon, the country wrapped up its campaign with 45 medals in all - nine gold, 14 silver and 22 bronze. [3]

Uzbekistan entered four men's golfers who competed in the individual and team event. Several national golf associations complained to the Court of Arbitration for Sport that Uzbekistan fielded professional golfers that reserved for amateurs, but the CAS ruled that none of the players were professional. The 2018 AFC U-19 Championship was the 40th edition of the biennial international youth football championship organised by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) for the men's under-19 national teams of Asia. It took place in Indonesia, which was appointed as the host by the AFC on 25 July 2017, between 18 October and 4 November 2018. A total of 16 teams played in the tournament.
Thailand participated in the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta and Palembang, Indonesia as a competing nation, from 18 August to 2 September 2018. This is the nation's eighteenth appearance at the Asian Games, since the inaugural games in New Delhi.
The 2018 PSSI Anniversary Cup was a four-team under-23 association football tournament held at Pakansari Stadium in Cibinong, Bogor Regency from 27 April until 3 May 2018. The tournament was organised to commemorate the 88th anniversary of Football Association of Indonesia (PSSI). Earlier, the tournament was expected to be kicked off on 28 April, however PSSI later changed it on 27 April due to Liga 1 matches that were to be held on that day.
The 2019 AFC Cup knockout stage was played from 17 June to 4 November 2019. A total of 11 teams competed in the knockout stage to decide the champions of the 2019 AFC Cup.
