Garima Chaudhary (born 2 April 1990) is an Indian judoka. She was India's sole judoka at the 2012 London Olympics, competing in the Women's (63 kg) category. [1] [2]
Born to parents hailing from a middle class family, Chaudhary was inclined to sports during her childhood. She was good at sports such as kabaddi, athletics and cricket. While the father of Chaudhary remained concerned about her education, her mother continued to encourage her interest in sports. She represented her native state of Uttar Pradesh initially. Due to lack of suitable support from the state's sports association, she began representing Haryana in national-level competitions. [3]
Since 2004, Chaudhary has been training with Jiwan Sharma and Divya Sharma at Patiala-based National Institute of Sports. Due to lack of proper facilities, she had to practice with boys. Chaudhury found this to be a good way to train. [3] Sharma says that attributes such as self-belief, hard work and a winning attitude are Chaudhary's strengths. [4]
She participated at the 2011 World Judo Championships held in Paris and at the World Cup as a part of her qualification for the 2012 Summer Olympics. At the 2012 Asian Judo Championships held in Tashkent, she finished seventh in the 63 kg category. [5] [6] As a result of her performances, she earned 34 points and the eligibility to represent India at the London Olympics. [5]
In order to prepare for the Olympics, Chaudhary trained in Germany and France. She underwent a more competition-oriented training, studied her opponents, and focused on specific fitness aspects. [4]
In the first elimination round of the Women's (63 kg) category at the 2012 London Olympics, Chaudhary was defeated by Yoshie Ueno by an Ippon in 81 seconds. [7] Although this ended her challenge at the Olympics, India's sports administrators felt that she is a good medal prospect at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games and the Incheon Asian Games - both in 2014. At the 2014 Commonwealth Games, Chaudhary reached the quarter finals. [8]
In South Asian Games 2019, She won gold medal in Women's 70Kg weight class.
Chaudary competed in the 2023 Asian Games. [9] She also competed in several other competitions in 2023 as well as the Tashkent Grand Slam in February 2024. [10]

Yuri Alvear Orejuela is a Colombian judoka, three times World Champion in her division.
Pooja Dhanda is an Indian wrestler from Budana village of Hisar district in Haryana, who won Bronze medal at the 2018 World Championships at Budapest in 57 kg weight class. She won Silver medals at 2010 Summer Youth Olympics and 2018 Commonwealth Games at Gold Coast in 60 kg and 57 kg category respectively. The grappler also won a Bronze at the 2014 Asian Wrestling Championship. Pooja has defeated Olympic and World Championship medalists. Government of India honoured her with the Arjuna award for outstanding performance in the field of Sports.

Gévrise Émane is a French judoka. She was the European champion in the women's 63 kg weight class.
Alice Schlesinger is an Israeli-British retired judoka and sambo competitor. Born in Israel, she competed for that country until 2014, but following a dispute with the national federation she has started competing for Great Britain, of whom she is a citizen through her English-born mother.

Tsedevsürengiin Mönkhzaya is a Mongolian retired judoka. At the 2012 Summer Olympics she competed in the Women's 63 kg. Her first and quickest performance was on the fourth day of the 2012 Summer Olympics on 31 July 2012, during the elimination round of 32 matches. In three rounds totaling only 46 seconds, she expeditiously defeated Palau's 35-year-old Jennifer Anson. In that match, Munkhzaya Tsedevsuren scored Ippon, the perfect score of 110 to 0. In the 16th elimination round, she defeated Finland's Johanna Ylinen with a score of 100 to 0. In the quarterfinal, she defeated France's Gévrise Émane and advanced to the semifinal of Table B where she lost to Slovenia's Urška Žolnir who went on to win the gold. Munkhzaya Tsedevsuren fought for the bronze and lost to Japan's Yoshie Ueno.
Sally Conway is a Scottish retired judoka who competed for Team GB in the 2012 and the 2016 Rio Olympics in the women's 70 kg judo event. Conway won a bronze medal in the 2016 Olympics. She competed for Scotland at women's 70 kg judo event at the 2014 Commonwealth Games, where she won a bronze medal.
Moira de Villiers is a South African-born New Zealand judoka. She competed in the 70 kg event at the 2012 Summer Olympics losing in the first round. She competed in the women's 70 kg event at the 2014 Commonwealth Games where she won the silver medal.
Shushila Devi Likmabam is an Indian judoka who won the silver medal in the women's 48 kg weight class at the judo at the 2014 Commonwealth Games at Glasgow. She hails from Manipur state in India. Likmabam had earlier pinned Chloe Rayner in the semis. She won the silver medal in women's 48 kg judo.
Kalpana Devi Thoudam is an Indian judoka, born in Imphal East, Manipur. She won the bronze medal in the women's 52 kg weight class at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland.
Shah Hussain Shah is a Pakistani judoka. Shah competes in the men's -100 kg division. As of July 2014, he is based in Japan. Shah Hussain received the honour to bear Pakistan flag at Rio Olympics. Shah represented Pakistan in 2018 Asian Games where he won a bronze medal in -100 kg division.
Sakshi Malik is a former Indian freestyle wrestler. At the 2016 Summer Olympics, she won the bronze medal in the 58 kg category, becoming the first Indian female wrestler to win a medal at the Olympics. In 2017, the Government of India honoured her with the Padma Shri, the country's fourth-highest civilian award and in 2024, she became the first Indian wrestler to feature in Time magazine's list of the 100 most influential people in the world. She is a part of the JSW Sports Excellence Program, along with fellow female wrestlers Vinesh Phogat, Babita Kumari and Geeta Phogat.

Catherine Beauchemin-Pinard is a Canadian judoka who competes in the women's 63 kg category. Beauchemin-Pinard won a bronze medal in the 63 kg weight class at the 2020 Summer Olympics, making her the second Canadian woman to win a medal in judo at the Summer Olympics. She has been ranked in the top 10 of the world in her weight category.
