The 2019 South Asian Games, officially the XIII South Asian Games, was a major multi-sport event which was originally slated to be held from 9 to 18 March 2019 in Kathmandu and Pokhara, Nepal. However, the dates were postponed and the event was held from 1–10 December 2019, coincidentally at the same time as the 2019 Southeast Asian Games in the Philippines. The new dates were confirmed at the South Asian Olympic Council Executive Board meeting in Bangkok on 1 March 2019. The Dasarath Stadium hosted the opening ceremony along with the men's football tournament, with the stadium's renovation after the 2015 earthquake completed in under 10 months with an increased capacity of 20,000, along with the closing ceremony on 10 December.

Lalit Narayan Rajbanshi is a Nepalese cricketer. He made his List A debut for Nepal against Zimbabwe in the 2018 Cricket World Cup Qualifier on 4 March 2018.

Cricket at the 2019 South Asian Games was held in Twenty20 format in Kirtipur and Pokhara, Nepal between 2 and 9 December 2019. Cricket returned to the South Asian Games after a period of nine years. The men's tournament featured under-23 squads from Bangladesh and Sri Lanka and senior squads from Bhutan, Maldives and Nepal. The women's event featured teams from Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Maldives and Nepal. All matches in the men's event were played at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur. The women's event was played at the Pokhara Stadium.

Women's cricket at the 2019 South Asian Games was held in Pokhara, Nepal from 2 to 8 December 2019. The women's event featured teams from Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Maldives and Nepal. Sri Lanka named an under-23 squad, while matches played between Bangladesh, Maldives and Nepal were granted Women's Twenty20 International status. Matches were played at the Pokhara Stadium.

Athletics or track and field will be among the sports to be contested at the 2019 South Asian Games. Athletics will be hosted in the Dasarath Stadium. This stadium will also host the games' Opening and Closing Ceremony.

Taekwondo is among the sports which is being contested at the 2019 South Asian Games. Taekwondo is being hosted in the International Sports Complex, Satdobato between December 2 and 5, 2019.

Triathlon is among the sports which is being contested at the 2019 South Asian Games. Triathlon is being hosted in the city of Pokhara between December 2 and 4, 2019. The discipline of duathlon was added to the sports program for this edition of the games.

Golf was contested at the 2019 South Asian Games. The events were hosted at the Gokarna Forest Resort, in Kathmandu, Nepal from 3 to 6 December 2019.

Wushu at the 2019 South Asian Games was contested at the Army Physical Fitness Centre, Lagankhel, in Lalitpur, Nepal, from 5 to 8 December 2019.

The 2025 South Asian Games, officially the XIV South Asian Games, will be a major multi-sport event held in Pakistan. Lahore will be the main host city of the Games. Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Islamabad and Sialkot will support Lahore in hosting some of the sports. The Games were scheduled to be held in March 2023, but got postponed to Feb 2025 by the South Asian Olympic Council members at the Olympic Council of Asia conference in Cambodia.

Swimming is among the sports which is being contested at the 2019 South Asian Games. Swimming is being hosted in the International Sports Complex, Satdobato between December 5 and 9, 2019.

Cycling is among the sports contested at the 2019 South Asian Games. Cycling was hosted at the Sahid Park, Gokarna and Ring Road between 4 and 7 December 2019.

Archery is among the sports which is being contested at the 2019 South Asian Games. Archery is being hosted in the Pokhara Stadium between 5 and 9 December 2019.

Judo competitions at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England, were held from 1 to 3 August 2022. After the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro and the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, This was the fifth time the sport has been on the program, since it was introduced as a demonstration sport in 1986, and made official at the next edition in 1990. Its second appearance within England specifically, spread across fourteen weight categories. Unlike other international competitions where each country can only enter one athlete per weight. Each participating country can enter up to 2 participants per weight. The sport will give two bronze medals, one for the winner from repechage and another for the athlete who won the third place event.
