Huang Mengkai of China managed to claim the gold medal after won the final match against Nicholas Choi of Hong Kong with the score 11–10. Choi settled for the silver medal, and the bronze medal goes to Son Young-ki of South Korea and Cheung Ka Long of Hong Kong.
The men's team foil competition at the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta was held on 24 August at the Jakarta Convention Center. China leads with five gold medals in this event, while South Korea and Japan were in the second and third position with 3 and 2 gold medals respectively. The other countries that ever won medals in this event were Hong Kong with 4 bronzes and Iran with a bronze.

South Korean team was the defending champion in this event after won the last five gold medals from 1998 to 2014. Japan clinched their first gold medal in this event at the Asian Games after defeated the Chinese team with the score 35–34 in the final. China captured the silver medal, while Singapore and South Korean team won the bronze medal.

Xu Yingming is a Chinese fencer. He won one of the bronze medals in the men's team sabre event at the 2018 Asian Games held in Jakarta, Indonesia. Four years earlier, he also won one of the bronze medals in the same event at the 2014 Asian Games held in Incheon, South Korea. He has also won medals at several editions of the Asian Fencing Championships.
