The cycling competitions of the 2018 Asian Games were held at two venues in Subang and two venues in Jakarta from 20 August to 31 August 2018. [1] Road bicycle racing was held around the road of Subang from 22 to 24 August 2018, while track cycling was contested at the Jakarta International Velodrome from 27 to 31 August 2018, mountain biking was contested at Khe Bun Hill in Subang on from 20 to 21 August 2018, and BMX racing was contested at the Pulomas International BMX Center on 25 August 2018.

Cycling has been contested at every Summer Olympic Games since the birth of the modern Olympic movement at the 1896 Summer Olympics, at which a road race and five track events were held. Mountain bike racing entered the Olympic programme at the Atlanta Olympics, followed by BMX racing in 2008 and freestyle BMX in 2021. Prior to the 2020 Summer Olympics, all events were speed races, but the 2020 programme featured BMX freestyle for the first time.

Sports in Indonesia are popular from both the participation and spectating aspect. Some popular sports in Indonesia are football, volleyball, basketball, badminton, and the native Indonesian martial art pencak silat. Badminton is arguably Indonesia's most successful sport. Indonesia has won gold medals in badminton in every Olympic Games since the sport was first introduced to the Olympics in 1992, with the exception of the 2012 Summer Olympics. Indonesia became the first grand winner in Badminton Olympics back then 1992. Indonesia regularly participates in the Thomas Cup, Uber Cup, and Sudirman Cup badminton championships, then became the first nation in history to complete those three titles. Indonesia also regularly participates in regional multi-events sport, such as the Southeast Asian Games, Asian Games, and Olympic Games. Indonesia is one of the major sport powerhouses in the Southeast Asian region, winning the Southeast Asian Games 10 times since 1977.

Cycling competitions at the Beijing 2008 Summer Olympics were held from August 9 to August 23 at the Laoshan Velodrome, Laoshan Mountain Bike Course, Laoshan BMX Field and the Beijing Cycling Road Course.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Cycling at the 2012 Summer Olympics</span>

The cycling competitions at the 2012 Olympic Games in London took place at five venues between 28 July and 12 August. The venues were the London Velopark for track cycling and BMX, and Hadleigh Farm, in Essex, for mountain biking. The road races took place over a course starting and ending in The Mall in central London and heading out into Surrey, while the time trials started and finished at Hampton Court Palace in Richmond upon Thames. Eighteen events were contested and around 500 athletes participated.

Cycling was contested at the 2002 Asian Games in Busan, South Korea. Road bicycle racing was held at the Road Cycle Race Stadium from September 30 to October 2, while track cycling was contested at Geumjeong Velodrome from October 4 to October 8 and mountain biking was contested at Gijang Mountain Bike Race Stadium from October 10 to October 13.

Cycling at the 2010 Asian Games was held in Guangzhou, China. Road bicycle racing was held at the Triathlon Venue from November 20 to 23, while track cycling was contested at Guangzhou Velodrome from November 13 to 17, and mountain biking was contested at Dafushan Mountain Bike Course on November 18, and BMX racing was contested at Guangzhou Velodrome on November 19.

The cycling competitions of the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro were held at four venues scheduled to host Eighteen events between 6 August and 21 August.

The cycling competitions of the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo featured 22 events in five disciplines. The 2020 Olympics were postponed to 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Cycling at the 2014 Asian Games was held in Incheon, South Korea. Road bicycle racing was held at the Songdo Road Cycling Course from September 27 to 28, while track cycling was contested at Incheon International Velodrome from September 20 to 25, and mountain biking was contested at Yeongjong Baegunsan MTB Course on September 30, and BMX racing was contested at the Ganghwa Asiad BMX Track on October 1.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Cycling at the Youth Olympic Games</span>

Cycling has been included in the Summer Youth Olympic Games since their inauguration at the 2010 Summer Youth Olympics, at which one event was held. Unlike the Summer Olympics, track cycling is not included, while the program features BMX racing, road cycling and mountain bike racing.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">2018 European Cycling Championships</span>

The 2018 European Road Championships and European Track Championships were held in Glasgow, United Kingdom, from 2 to 12 August 2018, the championships were part of the first European Championships with other six sports events happening in Glasgow and Berlin.

Cycling competitions at the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru were held at five venues across Lima. The Circuito BMX held the BMX racing competitions, the Pista de skateboarding held the freestyle BMX events. Morro Solar staged the mountain biking competitions, and the Circuito San Miguel staged the road competitions. Finally the velodrome staged the track cycling competitions.

Cycling at the 2022 Commonwealth Games was held between 29 July and 7 August 2022 at four different venues. There were 26 events altogether in cycling, making the sport third-highestt in terms of number of medals available. There were 20 events in track cycling, two in mountain biking, two in road time trials and two in road racing.

Cycling competitions at the 2021 Junior Pan American Games in Cali, Colombia, were held from 26 November to 3 December 2021.

Cycling competitions at the 2022 Bolivarian Games in Valledupar, Colombia were held from 24 June to 2 July 2022 at three venues across Valledupar and at one sub-venue in Cali.

Cycling competitions at the 2023 Pan American Games in Santiago, Chile will be held at five venues across Santiago. The BMX racing competitions will be held in the BMX Track in Peñalolén, while the Esplanade of urban sports will feature freestyle BMX events. San Cristobal Metropolitan Park will stage the mountain biking competitions, and the Streets of Isla de Maipo and Santiago will stage the road competitions. Finally the velodrome will stage the track cycling competitions.

The cycling competitions of the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris are scheduled to run at four different venues from 27 July to 11 August, featuring twenty-two events across five disciplines.
