PFK Metallurg Bekabad (Uzbek : "Metallurg Bekobod") is an Uzbek football club based in Bekabad. They play in the Uzbekistan Super League.

History

The club was founded in 1945. Metallurg played in one of the regional zones of Soviet Second League until 1992. Since 1992 club played in Uzbekistan First League. From 1992 to 1993 club was named Madanchi. In 1994 club was renamed to Metallurg. 1997 season club finished as runner-up after Temiryo'lchi and promoted to the Uzbek League. The 2002 season Metallurg ranked at 5th place which is club's highest performance ever.

Stadium

The club has played its matches at Stadium named after A.Anokhin since 1960. Originally the stadium had capacity for 5,000 spectators. [1] In 2009 the reconstruction works started to renovate the stadium. In the Summer of 2012 the construction works finished and capacity of the all-seater stadium had been expanded to 15,000. The opening ceremony of the stadium was held on 4 August 2012 with an Uzbek League match between Metallurg and Pakhtakor which ended 1–2. [2] [3]

They also competed in the 2011 Uzbekistan Cup getting knocked out in the Semi-final stages by Nasaf Qarshi. Ravshan Khaydarov is a football manager and former player. He is currently head coach of Uzbekistan U-20.

The 2013 season was Bunyodkors 7th season in the Uzbek League in Uzbekistan. Bunyodkor completed first treble in the season. They completed a Domestic double winning both the League and Cup. Also Bunyodkor youth team won 2013 Uzbek Youth League. Bunyodkor also competed in the AFC Champions League, reaching the Round of 16 stage before being knocked out by Buriram United of Thailand.

The 2014 season was Bunyodkors 8th season in the Uzbek League in Uzbekistan, of which they were the defending Champions having won the 2013 title. Bunyodkor failed to defend their title, finish the season in 4th position. Bunyodkor won the Uzbekistan Super Cup, reached the Round of 16 in the AFC Champions League, where they were defeated by Al-Hilal, and the final of the Uzbekistan Cup.

The 2015 season is Bunyodkors 9th season in the Uzbek League in Uzbekistan.

The 2016 season is Bunyodkors 10th season in the Uzbek League in Uzbekistan.

The 2017 season is Bunyodkors 11th season in the Uzbek League in Uzbekistan.

The 2018 season is Bunyodkor's 12th season in the Uzbek League.

The 2021 season was Bunyodkor's 15th season in the Uzbekistan Super League; they finished the season in fifth position and reached the semi-final of the Uzbekistan Cup.

Mukhammadali Urinboev is an Uzbekistani footballer who plays for Premier League club Brentford on loan from Pakhtakor. He also captains the Uzbekistan U18.

The 2024 Uzbekistan Super League was the 33rd season of top-level football in Uzbekistan since its establishment in 1992. Pakhtakor Tashkent are the defending champions for the 2023 campaign. Lokomotiv Tashkent and Dinamo Samarqand teams promoted to the 2024 Super League. The first matches will take place on March 3, 2024.
