Eric Denaud Green (born March 16, 1982) is an American former professional football player who was a cornerback in the National Football League (NFL). He was selected by the Arizona Cardinals in the third round of the 2005 NFL draft. He played college football for the Virginia Tech Hokies.
Green was also a member of the Miami Dolphins, San Francisco 49ers and Omaha Nighthawks.
Green played high school football at Clewiston High School in Clewiston, Florida where he played quarterback, wide receiver, and defensive back. He earned All-State Honors as a senior with 1,100 passing yards and 400+ rushing.
He also participated in track and field, where he placed fifth in 110m hurdles with a time of 14.3 seconds.
Green played college football for the Virginia Tech Hokies. During his career, he recorded 143 tackles (91 solo), four blocked kicks, and 25 pass deflections. He also posted eight interceptions with 264 return yards, third most in school history.
Drafted in the third round in 2005, Green played in 12 games and started five. [1] He played in 15 games in 2006, starting 8, and leading with 13 defensed passes. He started the first 11 games of 2007 having 56 tackles, but on November 27 was placed on injured reserve with a groin injury. [2] A restricted free agent in the 2008 offseason, Green signed his one-year, $2.017 million first-round tender offer on April 3, 2008. [3]
An unrestricted free agent after the 2008 season, Green signed with the Miami Dolphins on March 12, 2009. [4] He was released on August 19.
Green signed with the San Francisco 49ers hours after being released by the Dolphins on August 19.

In January 2010, Green was named in a lawsuit that alleged he forcibly sodomized a transgender woman in early 2009 in Arizona. [5] That lawsuit was dismissed. Green's attorney claim Green was never served. The plaintiff's attorney claims he was not served because the suit settled. In October 2010, the suit was re-filed in federal court claiming Green failed to make the first payment. [6] The suit asks for $10 million. [7]
Samuel Adolphus Madison Jr. is an American former professional football player who was a cornerback in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Louisville Cardinals, and was selected by the Miami Dolphins in the second round of the 1997 NFL draft. A four-time Pro Bowl selection, Madison also played for the New York Giants. He has won two Super Bowls, Super Bowl XLII as a player with the Giants and Super Bowl LIV as an assistant coach with the Chiefs.
Antrel Rocelious Rolle is an American former professional football cornerback in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Miami Hurricanes, earning unanimous All-American honors. He was selected by the Arizona Cardinals with the eighth overall pick in the 2005 NFL draft. Rolle also played for the Chicago Bears and New York Giants, winning Super Bowl XLVI with New York in 2011 over the New England Patriots.
James Franklin Williams Jr. is an American former professional football player who was a cornerback for the Atlanta Falcons and San Francisco 49ers of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Virginia Tech Hokies, aearning unanimous All-American honors. Williams was selected by the Atlanta Falcons in the second round of the 2006 NFL draft, but was later suspended for violating the NFL's banned substances policy.
Matthew Ben Mulligan is a former American football tight end. He played college football at The University of Maine. Mulligan was signed by the Miami Dolphins as an undrafted free agent in 2008. He was also a member of the Tennessee Titans, New York Jets, St. Louis Rams, Green Bay Packers, New England Patriots, Chicago Bears, Arizona Cardinals, Buffalo Bills, and Detroit Lions. Vance Desmond Joseph is an American football coach and former player who is the defensive coordinator of the Denver Broncos of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Colorado Buffaloes as a quarterback and running back in the 1990s, and was signed by the New York Jets as an undrafted free agent in 1995, playing cornerback for them and then the Indianapolis Colts in 1996. After spending 12 years as a defensive coach in the NFL with San Francisco (2005–10), Houston (2011–13), Cincinnati (2014–15) and Miami (2016), Joseph was hired as head coach by the Denver Broncos in 2017, serving until he was fired after the 2018 season. After his first tenure with the Broncos, Joseph served as defensive coordinator for the Arizona Cardinals from 2019 to 2022, before being hired by the Broncos as defensive coordinator in 2023.
Kameron Darnel Chancellor, nicknamed "Bam Bam Kam", is an American former professional football safety who spent his entire nine-year career with the Seattle Seahawks of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Virginia Tech Hokies prior to being selected by the Seahawks in the fifth round of the 2010 NFL draft. A four-time Pro Bowler, he was one of the key members of their Legion of Boom secondary. He also helped lead the Seahawks to victory in Super Bowl XLVIII. Chancellor retired following complications from a neck injury he suffered in 2017.
