Politics in Mozambique takes place in a framework of a semi-presidential representative democratic republic,whereby the President of Mozambique is head of state and head of government in a multi-party system. Executive power is exercised by the government. Legislative power is vested in both the government and the Assembly of the Republic.
Luísa Dias Diogo is a Mozambican politician who served as Prime Minister of Mozambique from February 2004 to January 2010. She replaced Pascoal Mocumbi,who had been prime minister for the previous nine years. Before becoming prime minister,she was Minister of Planning and Finance,and she continued to hold that post until February 2005.
The Bank of Mozambique is the central bank of Mozambique. The bank does not function as a commercial bank,and has the responsibility of governing the monetary policies of the country. The president of the Republic appoints the governor. The bank is situated in the capital,Maputo,and has two branches,one in Beira and one in Nampula. The Bank of Mozambique is active in developing financial inclusion policy and is a member of the Alliance for Financial Inclusion.
Esperança Bias is a Mozambican politician. She is a graduate of the Faculty of Economy at the Eduardo Mondlane University. From 1999 to 2005,she served as the Deputy Minister of Mineral Resources. From 2005 to 2015,she served as Mozambique's Minister of Mineral Resources. In 2015,incoming president Filipe Nyusi replaced her with Pedro Conceição Couto.
Electricidade de Moçambique,E.P. is a state-owned energy company of Mozambique,which deals with the generation,transmission,distribution and sale of electricity. EDM was incorporated in 1995 after the privatization of the state-managed enterprise Electricidade de Moçambique,Empresa Estatal (EDM-E.E.),which had been set up in 1977,two years after the independence of Mozambique,by the new government of the People's Republic of Mozambique led by the FRELIMO party. In 1977,EDM emerged from the amalgamation of twenty-five separate generation and distribution units geographically dispersed across Mozambique.
Verónica Nataniel Macamo Dlhovo is a Mozambican politician who has served as the Minister of Foreign Affairs since 2020. She served as the President of the Assembly of the Republic of Mozambique from 2010 to 2020. Dlhovo is a member of Frelimo.
Filipe Jacinto Nyusi is a Mozambican politician serving since 2015 as the fourth president of Mozambique. He is the current leader of FRELIMO,the party that has governed Mozambique since its independence from Portugal in 1975. Additionally,he has served as the Chairman of the Southern African Development Community since August 2020. During his time in office,President Nyusi has promoted peace and security,and signed multiple agreements with the main opposition parties,RENAMO,to bring a definitive and lasting peace to Mozambique.

Mphanda Nkuwa Dam is a proposed hydroelectric dam on the Zambezi River in Mozambique. The dam would be located about 60 kilometres (37 mi) downstream of the existing Cahora Bassa Dam near the city of Tete. Its power station would have a capacity of 1,500 megawatts.
Carlos Agostinho do Rosário is a Mozambican politician who was the Prime Minister of Mozambique from 17 January 2015 until 3 March 2022. He is a member of the FRELIMO,and served under President Filipe Nyusi. He worked as a civil servant in the 1970s and was Governor of Zambezia Province between 1987 and 1994. Later he served a short while as MP in 1994 before becoming Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries,in which post he served until 1999. Afterwards he became a diplomat in Asia;prior to his appointment as prime minister,Rosario served as ambassador to Indonesia.

Manuel Chang is a Mozambican economist and former politician of the FRELIMO party. From 2005 to 2015 he served as the Minister of Economy and Finance in the cabinet of President Armando Guebuza. He replaced Luísa Diogo as Finance Minister in February 2005. His work as Finance Minister was intertwined in a debt scandal. In January 2015 when President Filipe Nyusi assumed office he replaced Chang as Finance Minister with Adriano Maleiane.
Daniele Franco is an Italian economist,central banker and civil servant who served as Minister of Economy and Finance in the cabinet of Prime Minister Mario Draghi from 2021 to 2022. From 2020 until 2021,he served as director-general of the Bank of Italy.
The Metoro Solar Power Station is a 41 megawatts solar power plant in Mozambique. The power station was developed by a consortium comprising Neoen,a French independent power producer (IPP),based in Paris,France and Electricidade de Moçambique (EDM),the Mozambican electricity utility company. Construction began in October 2020,with commercial commissioning expected in the fourth quarter of 2021.
Cristóvão Artur Chume is a Mozambican military general who has been the Minister of National Defense since his appointment in November 2021. He had previously served as the Commander of the Army Branch of the Mozambique Defence Armed Forces from March to November 2021.

Helena Mateus Kida is a Mozambican judicial magistrate and politician who has been the Minister of Justice,Constitutional and Religious Affairs since January 2020. A member of FRELIMO,Kida previously served as the deputy minister of interior from 2017 to 2020.
Lídia de Fátima da Graça Cardoso is a Mozambican manager who has been the Minister of the Sea,Inland Waters and Fisheries since March 2022. She replaced Augusta Maíta. Cardoso had previously been the Deputy Minister of Health from February 2020 until March 2022. Before joining the government,she been an adviser for the management of medical logistics.
