Erwin Weber (born 12 June 1959 in Munich) is a former German rally driver. He was the winner of the European Rally Championship in 1992, finished on the podium four times in the World Rally Championship and 2nd in the 1992 Dakar Rally.

The World Rally Championship is the highest level of global competition in the motorsport discipline of rallying, owned and governed by the FIA. There are separate championships for drivers, co-drivers, manufacturers and teams. He received the Princess of Asturias Sports Award in 2020. Sainz founded the Acciona | Sainz XE Team to join Extreme E and has competed in the first two seasons alongside Laia Sanz.

Philippe Gache is a French race car driver. He has raced in a number of disciplines, but for the last 20 years has specialized in off-road racing. In 1992 he competed in the Indianapolis 500, but crashed his car. He has driven in the Dakar Rally in 2003–2006 and 7 times in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. In 2006 he took his best finish on the Dakar, 12th place overall. In the 2010 edition of the Dakar Rally, he drove an SMG Buggy.

His greatest individual events were in his home Swedish Rally, which he won outright in successive years in 1992 and 1993. He has won the Swedish rally championship 17 times

The 1992 World Rally Championship was the 20th season of the FIA World Rally Championship. The season consisted of 14 rallies. Carlos Sainz won his second drivers' world championship in a Toyota Celica GT-Four ST185, ahead of Juha Kankkunen and Didier Auriol. The manufacturers' title was won by Lancia, ahead of Toyota and Ford.

Cato Menkerud is a rally co-driver. He started as a co-driver in 1992 for his father Helge Menkerud. In addition to Henning Solberg, he has co-driven for Petter Solberg, Birger Gundersen, Thomas Kolberg, Alexander Foss and Henrik Lundgaard. After the 2009 World Rally Championship season Menkerud split from Henning Solberg, and became the co-driver for Eyvind Brynildsen. The Rali Vinho da Madeira is a tarmac rally held in Madeira Island, Portugal, and it is the biggest annual sporting event of the island, bringing thousands of people into the roads to watch the drivers compete through the hilly terrain and the natural landscapes. The Scuderia Lancia, which later became the Squadra Corse HF Lancia, is the racing workshop of the Lancia car company, created in 1952 by Gianni Lancia, son of the brand's founder. The Scuderia Lancia officially began competing in motor sports, particularly in rallying, where it distinguished itself in the Carrera Panamericana, the Targa Florio and the Mille Miglia. The team also entered Formula 1 in 1954-1955, without particularly shining. The Squadra Corse bounced back in the World Endurance Championship with three world titles between 1979 and 1981, and in rallying, winning eleven constructors' titles and four drivers' titles between 1974 and 1992.
