Esports at the 2009 Asian Indoor Games was held in Gymnasium of Hanoi Technology, Vietnam from 1 November to 4 November 2009. There were six video games in the competition, FIFA 09 , NBA Live 08 , Need for Speed: Most Wanted , StarCraft: Brood War , Counter-Strike 1.6 and DotA Allstars .

The Pandora is a handheld gaming computer developed and produced by OpenPandora, which is made up of former distributors and community members of the GP32 and GP2X handhelds. Ju-Jitsu was contested as a demonstration sport at the 2009 Asian Indoor Games in Hanoi, Vietnam from 3 November to 4 November 2009. The competition took place at the Sóc Sơn Gymnasium.
Thailand participated in the 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou, China between 12–27 November 2010. The National Olympic Committee of Thailand sent 593 athletes to Guangzhou, and competed in 39 out of 42 sports. Thailand ended the games at 52 overall medals including 11 gold medals. These games witnessed first ever gold medals in Taekwondo.
ASEAN School Games (ASG) (informally known as the Youth SEA Games) is an annual multi-sport event for secondary schools student athletes in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and organised under the authority of the ASEAN Schools Sports Council (ASSC). The ASSC is an apolitical regional sports council that promotes sports among member countries. Prior to 2009, the games were played based on satellite, single sports events. This was changed in 2009, where a multi-sport event format was implemented. The 1st ASG planned under the new multi-sport format was hosted by Thailand in 2009, while the 2nd, 3rd and 4th ASG were hosted by Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia, respectively.
The water polo tournaments at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro took place from 6 to 20 August at the Maria Lenk Aquatics Centre in Barra da Tijuca. Twenty teams competed in the tournament. Games that ended in ties in elimination rounds were decided by shootouts, as overtime has been abolished since 2013.
Inside the Games is an Olympic news website formerly edited by the British sports journalist Duncan Mackay. In 2023 it was sold to Vox Europe Investment Holding Ltd, with editorial work overseen by a new team based in Spain. In May 2024, control of the site was transferred to Itg Media Dmcc in Dubai.
