Essex County Trilogy is a collection of three graphic short stories set in Essex County, Ontario by Jeff Lemire published in 2011 by Top Shelf Productions. The three short stories are "Tales from the Farm" (2008), "Ghost Stories" (2008), and "The Country Nurse" (2009). Two other shorter stories titled "The Essex County Boxing Club" and "The Sad and Lonely Life of Eddie Elephant Ears" are also included.
The collection won the Alex Award, the Doug Wright Award, and the Joe Shuster Award. It was also a 2011 selection for Canada Reads: The Essential Canadian Novels of the Decade. [1] In addition, Essex County provided Jeff Lemire with a Harvey Award nomination for Best New Talent in 2008. [2]
In June 2011, it was announced that visual effects artist John Dykstra would direct an adaptation of Essex County entitled Super Zero. [3]
In December 2015, it was announced that First Generation Films had optioned the rights to Essex County to develop the graphic novel as a television series for Canada's CBC Television. Aaron Martin is set as writer and showrunner, as well as executive producing with Lemire. [4] The television adaptation, Essex County , premiered on CBC Television in March 2023. [5]

The Doug Wright Awards for Canadian Cartooning are literary awards handed out annually since 2005 during the Toronto Comic Arts Festival to Canadian cartoonists honouring excellence in comics and graphic novels published in English. The awards are named in honour of Canadian cartoonist Doug Wright. Winners are selected by a jury of Canadians who have made significant contributions to national culture, based on shortlisted selections provided by a nominating committee of five experts in the comics field. The Wrights are handed out in three main categories, "Best Book", "The Spotlight Award", and, since 2008, the "Pigskin Peters Award" for non-narrative or experimental works. In 2020, the organizers added "The Egghead", an award for best kids’ book for readers under twelve. In addition to the awards, since 2005 the organizers annually induct at least one cartoonist into the Giants of the North: The Canadian Cartoonist Hall Fame.

Sweet Tooth is an American comic book limited series written and drawn by Canadian cartoonist Jeff Lemire and published by DC Comics' Vertigo imprint. Dubbed by some as "Mad Max meets Bambi", it takes place in a mostly rural post-apocalyptic setting where some creatures are human/animal hybrids. The original 40-issue series, of six sub-titled segments, ran from November 2009 to January 2013. A six-issue sequel, sub-titled The Return, ran from November 2020 to November 2021. A television series adaptation was released on Netflix in June 2021, with a second season released in April 2023. The following month, Netflix announced that a third and final season will be produced.
