The Wisconsin Legislature is the state legislature of the U.S. state of Wisconsin. The Legislature is a bicameral body composed of the upper house,Wisconsin State Senate,and the lower Wisconsin State Assembly,both of which have had Republican majorities since January 2011. With both houses combined,the legislature has 132 members representing an equal number of constituent districts. The Legislature convenes at the state capitol in Madison.
The administrative divisions of Wisconsin include counties,cities,villages and towns. In Wisconsin,all of these are units of general-purpose local government. There are also a number of special-purpose districts formed to handle regional concerns,such as school districts.
Jeffrey E. Smith is an American Democratic politician and former small business owner from Eau Claire,Wisconsin. He is a member of the Wisconsin Senate,representing the 31st Senate district since 2019. He previously served two terms in the Wisconsin State Assembly,from 2007 to 2011.

Robert George Siebecker was an American attorney and the 11th Chief Justice of the Wisconsin Supreme Court. He served on the Wisconsin Supreme Court for the last 19 years of his life (1903–1922). John Hawkins Rountree was an American farmer,businessman,politician,and Wisconsin pioneer. He was the founder of Platteville,Wisconsin,and was instrumental in the early development of that village. He was also one of the founders of the Northwestern Mutual Insurance Company,and remained a director in the company until his death. In politics,he represented Grant County for five years in the Wisconsin Legislature,and was a delegate to Wisconsin's 2nd constitutional convention in 1847.

From 2006 to 2020,Stubbs was the only African American to serve on the Board of Supervisors,however African American representation on the Board is increasing. Beginning in 2020,the Dane County Board of Supervisors installed four other African American supervisors in Anthony Gray,Teran Peterson,April Kigeya,and Dana Pellebon.

He is the first Muslim member of the Wisconsin Legislature. Before his election to the Assembly,he served six years on the Madison Common Council,and was president of the Council from 2018 to 2019.
The 39th Assembly District of Wisconsin is one of 99 districts in the Wisconsin State Assembly. Located in central Wisconsin,the district comprises all of Green Lake and Marquette counties,along with much of western Fond du Lac County and parts of northeast Columbia County,southeast Winnebago County,and eastern Adams County. It includes the cities of Berlin,Green Lake,Markesan,Montello,Princeton,and Ripon. The district also contains Fox River National Wildlife Refuge,Summerton Bog,Ripon College and the historic Little White Schoolhouse in Ripon—the birthplace of the Republican Party. The district is represented by Republican Mark Born,since January 2013. After the 2024 redistricting,Born no longer resides in the new district.
