The white-cheeked pintail, also known as the Bahama pintail or summer duck, is a species of dabbling duck. It was first described by Carl Linnaeus in his landmark 1758 10th edition of Systema Naturae under its current scientific name.

The Dreissenidae are a family of small freshwater mussels, aquatic bivalve molluscs. They attach themselves to stones or to any other hard surface using a byssus. The shells of these bivalves are shaped somewhat like those of true mussels, and they also attach themselves to a hard substrate using a byssus, however this group is not at all closely related to true mussels, being more closely related to the venus clams (Veneridae).

Unio (bivalve) Genus of bivalves

Unio is a genus of medium-sized freshwater mussels, aquatic bivalve mollusks in the family Unionidae, the river mussels. They are found throughout Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, with some species introduced to East Asia. Fossil species are also known from the Jurassic of North America.

Hungerfordia is a genus of small land snails with an operculum, a terrestrial gastropod mollusk in the family Diplommatinidae endemic to the Republic of Palau. Many of the members of this genus inhabit limestone cliffs or rubble, especially in the Rock Islands (Chelbacheb) in Airai, Koror, and Peleliu states. As of 2022, there are 41 described species in this genus. A series of revisions in 2013 - 2015 described several new species, as well as transferring Palauan members of the genus Diplommatina or Palaina into Hungerfordia.

Ambigolimax Genus of gastropods

Ambigolimax is a genus of air-breathing land slugs in the family Limacidae, the keelback slugs. There is still ongoing disagreement whether it is more appropriate to consider Ambigolimax as merely a subgenus of Lehmannia; the evidence for splitting them is phylogenetic trees constructed on the basis of DNA sequences.

The name Ambigolimax nyctelius has been used to refer to several species of air-breathing land slugs in the family Limacidae. An article published in 2022 revealed this confusion and furthermore showed that the original description applied to a slug species in a different family. The above names are therefore no longer appropriate and care is need to interpret the meaning of earlier usages.
