Europa is the second studio album by Swedish singer-songwriter Molly Nilsson, released on 17 June 2009.
The album marked the formation of Nilsson's self-run label Dark Skies Association. [1] The flag of Europe is used as the logo of the label. [2] In an interview, Nilsson said the following about Europe and the EU:
The idea of the EU – and by that I mean a unified and peaceful Europe and not some of the political realities – is something beautiful, visionary. The simple message of working together instead of fighting each other in competition or warfare. [2]
Europa was conceived against the backdrop of the Great Recession and the then-incoming 2010s decade. [3] The album has been described as idealistic, hopeful, and dealing with the ideas of "having no borders to imprison people" and "people coming together to make things better". [3]
Europa was written and recorded in 2009. [3] Nilsson described the album's production as "kind of difficult". [1] It was the first of her releases to be recorded in her own Lighthouse Studios in Berlin. [3]
The song "Berlin, Berlin" is notable for being in Nilsson's native Swedish, as opposed to her usual English. She has not written any songs in Swedish since. [4]
Europa was originally self-released through Nilsson's label Dark Skies Association on CD and vinyl on 17 June 2009. [5] [6] It was her first release on vinyl, and it marked the formation of her self-run label. The album did not sell as well as she had expected. [1]
The album was released as a digital download on 12 March 2021. [3] A reissue on both CD and vinyl followed in April 2021, co-released by Night School Records. [7] [8] For its 2021 reissue, the album was remastered by James Plotkin. [3] Europa was the last of Nilsson's entirely self-released albums to be reissued on Night School Records. [3] As of 2021, 25% of the album's profits are said to be donated to Sea-Watch. [3]
Looking back at the album in 2022, Nilsson gave a mixed opinion, calling it a "transitional record" and a "middle child" between These Things Take Time and Follow the Light , while noting that there are "some songs" on Europa that she loves. [1]
A music video for the title track "Europa" was released on 9 June 2009. [9]

This is the discography of Apple Records, a record label formed by the Beatles in 1968. During its early years, the label enjoyed a fair degree of commercial success, most notably with Mary Hopkin and Badfinger, as well as discovering acts such as James Taylor, Hot Chocolate and Billy Preston who would go on to greater success with other labels. However, by the mid-1970s, Apple had become little more than an outlet for the Beatles' solo recordings. After EMI's contract with the Beatles ended in 1976, the Apple label was finally wound up. The label was reactivated in the 1990s with many of the original Apple albums being reissued on compact disc, and the company now oversees new Beatles releases such as the Anthology and 1 albums as well as the 2009 Beatles remastering programme. In 2010, Apple set about remastering and reissuing its back catalogue for a second time.
Adam Leonard is an English singer-songwriter working mainly in the folk, psychedelic and electronic music fields. His style is often described as lo-fi and the subject matter of his songs somewhat unconventional. Since his debut album How Music Sounds in 2003, he has released many EPs, albums and mini-albums on various small labels. Live performances, which have so far been limited to the UK are as intriguing as they are rare. In 2008 he opened for British folk musician Steve Ashley. He regularly collaborates with other musicians, most notably Pat Gubler, Ashley Cooke (Pulco), Gareth Davies, and Steven Collins of The Owl Service, a band for which Leonard provided vocals for their 2010 album The View From A Hill. At the close of 2010, a limited edition album entitled Nature Recordings was released on vinyl only by the London label The Great Pop Supplement. In 2011, Leonard provided the soundtrack to Claudia Heindel's award-winning independent film, Lucky Seven. In 2012, Nature Recordings was issued on CD by Manchester-based label The Northwestern Series.

If These Trees Could Talk is an instrumental post-rock band from Akron, Ohio. The band self-released their self-titled debut EP in 2006. Independent record label The Mylene Sheath re-released the EP on vinyl in 2007, and went on to release the band's debut studio album, Above the Earth, Below the Sky, on vinyl also, in 2009. The band self-released their second album Red Forest in March 2012, whilst the album's vinyl release went through Science of Silence Records. They went on to follow up the release of "Red Forest" with a self-promoted tour throughout Europe in April 2012. The band released its third album, The Bones of a Dying World, in June, 2016 on Metal Blade Records. The band's releases were re-issued in 2021 and 2022 on Metal Blade Records.
