The European Soundmix Show 1999 was the fourth European Soundmix Show.

Like the previous contests, this one was held in Amsterdam, and the winner was the host, the Netherlands with Cherwin Muringen imitating Seal.

Stars in Their Eyes is a British television talent series, based on Joop van den Ende's Dutch format Soundmixshow. It featured a singing contest in which members of the public impersonate showbiz stars.

The participation of France in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest first began in Lillehammer, Norway, at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2004. France Télévisions, a member organisation of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), are responsible for the selection process of their participation. The first representative to participate for the nation was Thomas Pontier with the song "Si on voulait bien", which finished in sixth place out of eighteen participating entries, achieving a score of seventy-eight points. France withdrew from competing in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest after 2004, and made their return to the contest in 2018, 14 years after. France won the contest for the first time in 2020, when Valentina won with the song "J'imagine".

Edsilia Francisca Rombley is a Dutch singer and television presenter. She began her career in 1995, as a member of the Dutch girl group Dignity. Rombley began her solo career in 1996, after winning the Dutch talent show Soundmixshow, later winning the European Soundmix Show as well the following year.

The European Soundmix Show was an imitation talent competition held yearly from 1996 to 1999, with two special shows in 2001 and 2002.

<i>Soundmixshow</i>

Soundmixshow is a Dutch talent show which was a live-vocals version of the Playback Show. It aired from 17 November 1985 to 27 April 2002 and was hosted by Henny Huisman. The format has since been sold to other countries, notably as the European Soundmix Show.

Absolom was a Belgian dance project produced by Christophe Chantzis and DJ Jimmy Goldschmitz. The group was popular in Europe by the end of the 1990s. For remixer and main-producer Chantzis the project was his first major effort in the Belgian dance scene. Vocals were done by Pascale Feront who gained some attention by entering the final of The Soundmix Show. A live-act was put together, consisting of singer Pascal Feront, two professional female dancers and Christophe Chantzis on keyboard. He also supplied the additional vocals on some singles.

Jake Krack son of Reed and Dara Krack, is a prominent young old-time fiddler and fiddle teacher from Nicut in the U.S. state of West Virginia. He began fiddling at age six or eight. His teachers include Bobby Taylor, Lester McCumbers, Melvin Wine, Brad Leftwich, Joe Thompson, Wilson Douglas, and Glen Smith.

Mariette Hansson, sometimes credited as MaryJet or simply Mariette, is a Swedish singer and songwriter. Hansson participated in Sikta mot stjärnorna (Swedish pre-selection for European Soundmix Show) in 1999 imitating singer Amanda Marshall. She participated in Idol 2009 which was broadcast on TV4 and finished fourth. A year later, Hansson was announced as "homo of the year" at the QX Gaygala in Stockholm.

Henrik Åberg, is a Swedish singer who won TV4's Sikta mot stjärnorna in 1995, imitating Elvis Presley performing the song "Blue Hawaii", and scoring chart successes in Sweden.

Sikta mot stjärnorna is a Swedish singing talent show that was broadcast on TV4 between 1994 until 2002. The show featured people acting and imitating their favorite singers/bands performances. From the 1996 season and forward the show worked as the Swedish pre-selection for the European final called European Soundmix Show. Several of Sweden's most known singers performed on the show before launching their singing careers.

Margit Bakken is a Norwegian musician and songwriter. She is one of the most established blues musicians in Norway, and often performs with Rita Engedalen as the duo Women in Blues. She has performed as a singer since the age of eight. In 1997, she was a contestant in the Norwegian version of the musical television show European Soundmix Show, where she was one of the finalists.
