Evan Thomas Porter (born March 13, 1987) is an American baseball coach and former second baseman and shortstop, who is the current head baseball coach of the Omaha Mavericks. He played college baseball at Omaha for coach Bob Herold from 2005 to 2009 before playing professional baseball for 4 season from 2009 to 2012. He returned to Omaha in 2013 as an assistant.
Porter attended Millard North High School in Omaha, Nebraska, where he was a teammate of Conor Gillaspie. [1] Porter then enrolled at the University of Nebraska Omaha, to play college baseball for the Omaha Mavericks baseball team.
As a freshman at the University of Nebraska Omaha in 2006, Porter had a .338 batting average, a .381 on-base percentage (OBP) and a .510 SLG.
As a sophomore in 2007, Porter batted .336 with a .574 SLG, 12 home run, and 61 RBIs.
In the 2008 season as a junior, Porter hit 15 home runs, 18 doubles, and 76 RBIs.
Porter had his best season as a senior in 2009, leading the team in doubles (23), home runs (10), RBIs (62), batting average (.424) and slugging (.655).
Porter was drafted in the 23rd round of the 2009 Major League Baseball draft by the Philadelphia Phillies. [2]
Porter signed with the Solingen Alligators on April 14, 2010. [3] Porter spent the 2011 and 2012 seasons with the Gothenburg Sharks and the Victoria Park Reds.
Porter returned to the United States in 2013 as an assistant coach at Omaha. He remained an assistant through the 2016 season. When the university parted ways with Bob Herold as head coach, Porter was named the interim head coach. [5] [6] After winning just 27 games in his first two seasons as head coach, Porter's 2019 team was projected to finish 5th in the Summit League, but the Mavericks won both the Summit League regular season and Tournament on route to their first ever NCAA Division I baseball tournament appearance. Ángel Maria Berroa Selmo is a Dominican professional baseball coach and former professional baseball infielder. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Kansas City Royals, Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Yankees and New York Mets. Berroa was selected as the 2003 American League Rookie of the Year.
Darin Charles Erstad is an American former professional baseball player and the former head coach of the University of Nebraska Cornhuskers baseball team. Erstad spent most of his playing career with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim franchise (1996–2006) before signing with the Chicago White Sox in 2007. Erstad batted and threw left-handed. He was a two-time MLB All-Star and a three-time Gold Glove Award winner. He was the first overall pick in the 1995 Major League Baseball draft.
Micah Kilakila Kaʻaihue is an American former professional baseball player. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Kansas City Royals and Oakland Athletics and in Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) for the Hiroshima Toyo Carp. Kaʻaihue went to Iolani School in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Robert Nathan Floyd is an American former Major League Baseball infielder. After his playing days ended, Floyd became a manager in Minor league baseball, and spent the next 30 years coaching. In 2001 and 2004, he was a major league coach with the New York Mets.
The Omaha Mavericks men's ice hockey team, also called the Nebraska Omaha Mavericks and UNO Mavericks, is a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I college ice hockey program that represents the University of Nebraska Omaha. The Mavericks are a member of the National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC). They play home games at Baxter Arena, an on-campus facility that opened in 2015. The Mavericks hockey program was started in 1997; the team has qualified for the NCAA tournament on four occasions, in 2006, 2011, 2015, and 2021. During the 2015 tournament, the team made their first appearance in the tournament semifinals, branded by the NCAA as the Frozen Four. The Mavericks competed in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) between 1999 and 2010 before joining the WCHA for the 2010–11 season. The Mavericks joined the National Collegiate Hockey Conference starting in the 2013–14 season along with fellow charter members Colorado College, the University of Denver, Miami University, the University of Minnesota Duluth, and the University of North Dakota, plus invited founding members St. Cloud State University and Western Michigan University.

Aledmys Díaz Serrano is a Cuban professional baseball utility player for the Oakland Athletics of Major League Baseball (MLB). He has previously played in MLB for the St. Louis Cardinals, Toronto Blue Jays, and Houston Astros. He played for the Naranjas de Villa Clara in the Cuban National Series from 2007 through 2012, before defecting to the United States. Díaz signed with the Cardinals in 2014, and made his MLB debut with them in 2016.
Casey Harold Gillaspie is an American former professional baseball first baseman. He played college baseball at Wichita State. He was drafted by the Tampa Bay Rays in the first round of the 2014 MLB draft, and traded to the Chicago White Sox in 2017. Despite his draft status, and spending time on Chicago's 40-man roster, he never played in Major League Baseball (MLB).
Nicholas Lopez is an American professional baseball shortstop for the Chicago White Sox of Major League Baseball (MLB). He was drafted by the Kansas City Royals in the fifth round of the 2016 MLB draft, and made his MLB debut with them in 2019. He has also played in MLB for the Atlanta Braves.

J. J. Isaacson Field at Seymour Smith Park is a 1,000-seat baseball park in Omaha, Nebraska. It was home to the Omaha Mavericks baseball team of the NCAA Division I Summit League. The venue has a capacity of 1,000 spectators.
Ritchie L. Price is an American college baseball coach and former shortstop. He is an assistant baseball coach at Fresno State University. Price played college baseball at the University of Kansas before pursuing a professional career. Price was the head baseball coach at South Dakota State University from 2007 to 2011.
Tal Anderson Field is a college baseball park in the central United States, located in Omaha, Nebraska. It is the home field of the University of Nebraska Omaha Mavericks of the Summit League in NCAA Division I. Opened three years ago in 2021 in the Midtown neighborhood, it has a seating capacity of 1,500 for baseball.
