Evan Blake Smith (formerly Dietrich-Smith; [1] born July 19, 1986) is a former American football center. He was a member of the Green Bay Packers, Seattle Seahawks, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. As a member of the Packers, he won Super Bowl XLV against the Pittsburgh Steelers. He played college football at Idaho State University.
Smith grew up in Salinas, California. He attended and played high school football at Salinas High School. He also attended Buena Vista Middle School.

He was signed by the Packers as an undrafted free agent in 2009 but was waived in the last round of cuts after training camp in 2010. [3]
On September 5, 2010, he was signed by the Seattle Seahawks before being released on October 5, 2010. [4]
On December 31, 2010, he re-signed with the Packers. [5] He got his only championship ring when the Packers defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers in Super Bowl XLV.
During the 2011 Thanksgiving Classic game between the Packers and the Detroit Lions, Smith was stomped on by Lions defensive tackle, Ndamukong Suh. Suh was ejected from the game and served a two-game suspension. [6] Former Green Bay Packer Matt Brock claims that Smith and another Packer linemen kept untying Suh's shoes and that is what led to the stomping incident. [7]
Smith signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on March 14, 2014. [8]
On March 23, 2018, Smith re-signed with the Buccaneers on a two-year contract. [9] He was placed on injured reserve on November 13, 2018, with a hip injury. [10]
Smith was released by the Buccaneers on August 10, 2019. [11]

The 2020 season was the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' 45th in the National Football League (NFL) and their second under head coach Bruce Arians. The club acquired long-time New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady in free agency, and traded for Brady's former Patriots teammate, tight end Rob Gronkowski during the offseason. They improved on their 7–9 record from the previous season by finishing 11–5 to qualify for the playoffs for the first time since 2007 – though 10 of their 11 wins were against non-playoff teams. They advanced through the playoffs to reach and win Super Bowl LV. They were the first team only having one Pro Bowler to do so since the 2007 Giants, and the first team to play in and win the Super Bowl in their home stadium, Raymond James Stadium. They were the 7th wild card team in NFL history to win the Super Bowl, as well as the fifth team to win three road games to advance to the Super Bowl, joining the 2010 Green Bay Packers, 2007 New York Giants, 2005 Pittsburgh Steelers, and 1985 New England Patriots.
